[2011.03.30] AARON KWOK PROMOTES NEW FILM BY SOLVING A CASE

The Oxide Pang Shun directed THE DETECTIVE II (B+ JING TAM) will open in May. Two days ago the director along with the cast Aaron Kwok Fu Sing, Patrick Tam Yiu Man, Izz Tsui Ching Hei and Gong Beibi attended the Beijing press conference. At the event, the film company deliberately set up a mock crime scene for Kwok Fu Sing who was promoted to B+ Detective. The bloody corpse added some horror color to the press conference. Facing the murder, Kwok Fu Sing calmly picked up a magnifying glass to investigate the crime scene and the victim. After a few minutes of deduction, he overturned the earlier autopsy report and claimed that "the victim died at the hands of someone close to her". After the investigation Kwok Fu Sing was pleased with him. "This type of murder is only a small case, THE DETECTIVE II is the real deal!"

Winning two Golden Horse Best Actor with DIVERGENCE (SAM CHA HAU) and AFTER THIS OUR EXILE (FU JI), Kwok Fu Sing in the film continued to play a private detective and worked with director Pang Shun for the third time. He honestly said, "The director not only asked me to elevate from C+ to B+, but also asked the entire film to elevate completely. My character went from new private detective to B+ detective, his investigation abilities elevated a lot. In the film I experienced a chilling murder that contacted the darkest side of humanity. During the shoot I repeatedly felt very heavy psychological pressure. I very quickly wanted to finish and return to the sunshine."

In addition Tam Yiu Man said that he stressed about the film's challenging two faced character. "In the film I played Liu Kai Chi's superior, a cop who could be either good or evil; viewers would have no way to know before the final moment. This to me is a challenge, I have to play every scene with two faces so viewers have no way to deal." Playing "important leads" in the film, new comers Tsui Ching Hei and Gong Beibi both admitted that THE DETECTIVE II's character personalities were very complex. Gong Beibi even complained, "While make THE DETECTIVE II I cried from the beginning to the end, my eyes in the end were swollen and I was on the brink of a breakdown."

The film LUEN HA LUEN HA LUEN LUEN HA (LOVE SUMMER LOVE SUMMER LOVE LOVE A LITTLE) wrap banquet took place two nights ago in Macau. Attending artists included Alex Fong Lik Sun, Elanne Kong Yeuk Lam, Owodog, Mainland star Zhang Xinyu and Carol Yeung Chi Yiu. Two days ago was Zhang Xinyu's 24th birthday and everyone presented a cake to her. The male leads pretended to kiss the birthday girl.

Zhang Xinyu and Siu Fong in the film had kiss scenes. She honestly said that she was nervous about it all day. Before the shot had to be 360 degrees, they kissed six to seven times and she was very embarrassed. When she kissed Siu Fong, did she think of Ron Ng Cheuk Hei? Zhang Xinyu said that she did not and reiterated that she and "Mr. Ng" were only ordinary friends. She explained that earlier she and her friends went to Ng Cheuk Hei's home to play mahjong, she did not expect any rumor. She called him to apologize, now they are rarely in contact. Supposedly she and Mavis Pan Shuangshuang were good friends. Zhang Xinyu said that they only met twice and were not familiar. She did not even have her number.

This film had many female artists. Siu Fong said that Kate M. had the best figure and was a very nice girl. Did he already find out about every girl? Siu Fong said that only individual ones. He was the closest friend with Owodog. Carol thought that she paled in comparison to the other girls. In addition, a rumored "young model" C worked at a night club. Carol said that she only found out about the cover after she returned to Hong Kong. She was very helpless, but during the years that the report referred to she was only 15 or 16. Kong Yeuk Lam and Owodog in the film played a couple and became good friends after all the time together on set. Kong Yeuk Lam's character often had him running. Kong Yeuk Lam said, "I hit him very hard, four finger marks can even be seen clearly! Owodog joked that he was a masochist, his reaction would only be realistic if he was really getting hit!"

They did not have any kiss scene. Owodog said, "Actually I am very shy. In one scene the girls all wore bikinis. They walked around and I didn't dare to look directly. I am very innocent. When Kong Yeuk Lam hug me, my heart pounded very heavily!"

[2011.03.30] DONNIE YEN BRINGS LORD GUAN TO LIFE

Donnie Yen Chi Tan described THE LOST BLADESMAN (GUAN WON CHEUNG) as the most challenging character in his career. Whether in look or feel, he was drastically different from this well known historical figure. Finally the film company's sincerity moved him. He could only like Lord Guan cross five passes and slay six generals, including looking for information online and from comic books and eating to gain weight. The funniest though was during his research, Chi Tan thought that comic book's fictional ideas were real. He read the wrong book for the wrong information, making him the laughing stock of directors Alan Mak Siu Fai and Felix Chong Man Keung.

Chi Tan said, "During that period I looked for information online everyday and familiarized myself with RECORDS OF THREE KINGDOMS like I was cramming for a big exam. I studied harder than my daughters at school. However I tried to see comic books about Lord Guan and thought the story was real. Later I realized that the story was purely fictional, finally Mak Chong made fun of me." In addition, Chi Tan also had to "inflate" his body in a short time to create a well built impression. Finally he had five meals a day to gain weight and got into even better shape.

Chi Tan at first had zero confidence to play Guan Yunchang. Finally "Mak Chong" said something that revived all of his confidence. Chong Man Keung was pleased with himself. "I remember one day I told the story of THE LOST BLADESMAN to Chi Tan, he suddenly said with a little frustration that he had no confidence in getting into this character. So I comforted him, 'You actually are Lord Guan. Now you are the best fighter in the entire universe, but everyone say that you don't know how to act. Now I am giving you someone who is the best fighter and full of ambitions, you want to change this world but everyone are against you. Now I am having you a chance, are you willing to take it?' After that, he completely understood." However that day Chong Man Keung mercilessly made fun of Chi Tan, yelling at him that since getting into the business he never learned to read scripts. However, "Mak Chong" even praised Chi Tan for bringing the Guan Yunchang before Lord Guan to life.

Five secondary school alumni of different years and different developments, a councilman who loves to protest Ng Yuk Yun; countless award winning Best Actor Cheung Chau Wan; gynecologist Fu Mo Sum; metaphysics master Szeto Kei Fung and Latin dance instruction Charlie Lam celebrate their beloved secondary school teacher Mr. Chu's 80th birthday. Mr. Chu is happy go lucky and in secondary school he was considered their sexual mentor, but at 80 he is still single; as the five's married lives have a variety of problems, they want to commiserate at this meeting.

At the hotel they meet five young, pretty models with extreme personalities: the open and daring Tina; film fanatic Audrey; death worshipper Ngai Yim; often possessed Siu Sin and the 15 year and 11 month old who wants to lose her virginity Eleven. The five are attracted to the five girl's youthful energy and all go overboard; Mr. Chu under the passion of the five girls suffers a heart attack and encourages the five to have fun as his dying wish!

The five men thus forms a team to continue to cheat with the girls, but Yuk Yun's lawyer wife Lau Yuk Hing finds out and along with Mrs. Fu, Mrs. Szeto, Charlie's wife, Chau Wan's wife and others conspire to investigate the affairs. Five men and ten women thus begin a spy war that is more spy war than a spay war, swearing to become the victors in this tug of war between the sexes!

[2011.03.29] LO MIK SHUET EXPECTS LAND MINES AFTER SIGNING WITH PHOENIX

Phoenix Satellite Hong Kong Channel yesterday officially launched from its Tai Po headquarters. Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Chief Executive Donald Tsang Yam Kuen, former Legislative Council President Rita Fan Hsu Lai-Tai, Phoenix Satellite chairman/CEO Liu Changle. Famous media person Lo Mik Shuet will open the all new program that also premiered yesterday. For the first episode she invited friends Chapman To Man Jat and Gigi Leung Wing Kei.

Lo Mik Shuet stated that the contract with Phoenix Satellite was for a year. She would host Monday to Friday. The program would be about Hong Kong life attitude, food, film, music and other topics. If she were to invite aritsts, would she face restrictions from artists who work with TVB? Lo Mik Shuet said, "Hong Kong has many free people, for example (Eason) Chan Yik Shun would come. I haven't thought of this step yet because I wanted to have a topic first before deciding which guests to invite. (Would you invite good friend Yuen Siu Cheung?) I can book him, actually I haven't stepped on this land mine yet. If I really do I may personally call Ms. Lok (TVB executive Elaine Lok Yi Ling). If they can speak Cantonese, they can speak Putonghua!" Lo Mik Shuet also said that she already turned down TVB series LIZA AND THE GODS (CHUEN GA FOK LOK SAU TAM ONG) but agreed to write a woman romantic comedy film script for Ms. Lok. Heiward Mak Hei Yan would direct and Eric Tsang Chi Wai would produce.

In addition, Lo Mik Shuet said that because this year would be the Hong Kong Film Award's 30th anniversary, she would like to invite Wai Ying Hung, Wong Jing and others to discuss film topics. The DAYS OF BEING WILD (AH FEI JING JUEN) 20th ANNIVERSARY FILM COLLECTION EXHIBIT took place yesterday at Harbor City. The event invited singer Rebecca Pan (Poon Dik Wa) to be the opening ceremony guest.

Poon Dik Wa said that she had quite a connection with Leslie Cheung Kwok Wing. When Gor Gor participated in a singing contest, she was one of the judges. She pointed out that at the time she picked Gor Gor to be the winner, but in the end he came in second. Poon Dik wa pointed out that ten years ago a Taipei interview headline was "MASTER PERFORMER POON DIK WA". At the time she thought whether she deserved that because she not only had to have the voice, the beauty and the art but also an unique aura, excellent and elegant style. At the time she thought of Gor Gor who absolutely deserved that title. She thought perfect artists were infrequent, in a hundred years a real artist would be hard to come by. Her era had Mei Lanfang, then came Gor Gor. She did not know when the next one would appear.

Poon Dik Wa pointed out that Gor Gor's every move, songs and movies made people miss him. Would she like to extend Gor Gor's spirit? She said, "Gor Gor truly is worth remembering. I don't dare to say he was the only one, but my heart thinks that way." April 1st would be the 8th anniversary of Gor Gor's passing. She will perform a farewell concert in Shantou so she would not be able to attend Gor Gor's memorial events. Every year Gor Gor's memorial event would raise fund. Over seven years it raised mostly 3 million for charity. This time a charity auction would be held to fund raise for the Hong Kong Children Cancer Foundation and Japan Red Cross.

April 1 LESLIE CHEUNG IN ASIA memorial event will also take place at the Cultural Center. In addition, from March 31 to April 3, flower presentations would take place at Central Mandarin Oriental hotel. On April 4 at Central Fringe Club a Gor Gor memorial concert would take place.
