Director Johnnie To Kei Fung appeared at the Hokkaido Baseball Stadium ES CON FIELD on Sunday (24th) and served as the opening guest in the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters vs. Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks game. To Kei Fung put on the No. 22 jersey and threw out the first pitch heroically. After the pitch he excitedly raised his arms and bowed to the fans. He then greeted everyone in Japanese to say good afternoon, which drew cheers from the audience. He said that when he first visited ES CON FIELD baseball stadium in the winter, "it was covered with snow, and I still remember that this black landmark stood out in the pure white scenery." To Kei Fung announced that he will be filming at ES CON FIELD, "I plan to start filming a new movie in July next year, and I hope to shoot at ES CON FIELD. I hope everyone will look forward to it." The fans at the game were excited and cheered warmly. Japanese media described To Kei Fung as "a world-class film director from Hong Kong", "a giant in the Hong Kong film industry", and "a world-class VIP", and some online lamented, "I regret not going today!"

Since directing THREE (SAM YUN HUNG) in 2016, To Kei Fung has been preparing for a new film for nearly 10 years. At the beginning of this year Japanese media reported that To Kei Fung appeared in Sapporo to scout locations for the new work, and even went to ES CON FIELD to inspect the environment. At the time the venue on the electronic display wrote "Welcome to ES CON FIELD HOKKAIDO Director Johnnie To". There was speculation that the movie To Kei Fung mentioned would be a new film with Tony Leung Chiu Wai, as the two would collaborated again 27 years after THE LONGEST NITE (UM FA).

* (2025/08/26) Support Leung Ka-fai to win "Best Action Newcomer" Jackie Chan Michelle Yeoh will shoot a new drama in Hong Kong next year Hong Kong Wen Wei Po Entertainment 2025-08-26 Jackie Chan suddenly stepped down from the stage and high-fived the audience "Chasing the Wind" Macau premiere set off a craze Jackie Chan suddenly stepped down from the stage and high-fived the audience "Chasing the Wind" Macau premiere set off a craze Hong Kong Wenwei News (Reporter Liang Jingyi, Photography Sun Jiawei) Jackie Chan (Big Brother) and Tony Leung Ka Fai collaborated again on the movie THE SHADOW'S EDGE (BO FUNG JUI YING) after 20 years. On the night before, together with director Larry Yang Zi, Korean boy band Seventeen members Jun Moon Junhui and Zhou Zhengjie attended the premiere in Macau and attracted many fans. Jackie Chan even went to the audience and high-fived the fans outside the venue, and some female fans even successfully got photos with him. Jackie Chan praised Leung Ka Fai for his outstanding performance and could win the "Best New Action Performer Award" next year. He also revealed that he will collaborate with Oscar Best Actress Michelle Yeoh (Yeung Chi Wai) in a new film in Hong Kong next year, and hoped to have the opportunity to work with Maggie Cheung Man Yuk again.

That night, a group of actors entered the theater to thank the audience. Away from the Hong Kong media for a long time, Jackie Chan talked about interesting filming anecdotes and future filming plans. After 20 years he collaborated with Leung Ka Fai again, Jackie Chan said that the two had a very strong personal relationship and the professional chemistry remained still the same, but the most difficult thing instead was the large number of professional terms in the dialogue. The seventh generation of Jackie Chan's apprentices the JC Stunt Team designed the action scenes, and when shooting dramatic scenes Ka Fai would advise him up on the spot. The two often advised each other. Leung Ka Fai joked, "We were giving each other bad advice."

Jackie Chan joked that he was also shocked to learn that Leung Ka Fai was going to shoot an action scene. When asked if Ka Fai had potential in making action scenes? Jackie Chan said with a smile, "I think at the next Hong Kong Film Awards, he can win the 'Best New Action Performer Award'." Ka Fai said that it was an honor to be praised by Jackie Chan, but he also joked, "We just go out to dinner occasionally, we don't talk!" He also praised Jackie Chan for teaching newcomers by word and deed, which was very rare in the film industry.

Playing the villain in the film, Ka Fai needed to stab Jackie Chan with a real knife. During the shoot they both insisted on personally performing the stunt. Jackie Chan admitted that he was "of course scared", but he could not be scared because of the shot was one take to the end. "Ka Fai stabbed at my eye at first, I told him not to be afraid, no problem no problem, because if he was scared he wouldn't dare to do it again." Ka Fai praised Jackie Chan's action movies as impeccable, because he always pursued realism and never needed a double to go into battle. Jackie Chan said, "Before filming we had a meeting with the director to study the way to fight, we try to fight ourselves as soon as we can, and fight in live action instead of using AI technology. We will go back to being more traditional."

Ka Fai praised Jackie Chan's rapid progress in dramatic performance in the past ten years, thanked him for leading him to break through the boundaries of acting, allowing him to take a step forward and move towards tomorrow. He laughed and said that he and Jackie Chan "are 138 years old together" and already eligible for the JoyYou card, but he still hoped to make progress with Jackie Chan.

When would he start work Hong Kong films? Jackie Chan admitted that many subjects have already been made before, then he has been unable to think of new subjects to be shot in Hong Kong. When he went to other places to shoot, a lot of inspiration would come out. He was not a young intellectual director type like Ann Hui On Wa, as his first thought would be all about fighting. If a director could come up with a good Hong Kong story, he would definitely make it. He announced that the script for the sequel to SHADOW'S EDGE was already in preparation. Leung Ka Fai's role will be "imprisoned". When asked if Leung Ka Fai would participate, he said with a smile that it would depend on Jackie Chan's schedule. If Big Brother would ask, he would definitely cooperate "Anytime, Anywhere".

Would Jackie Chan consider the challenge of climbing atop the Kai Tak Stadium for a film location? He bluntly said that applying for filming in Hong Kong would be difficult, filming in other places would be smoother. Leung Ka Fai also hoped to make it happen. "You can consider me holding my first concert down there, and while you shoot your first action movie on it?"

This year is Jackie Chan's 64th year in the industry. Earlier he was awarded the "Lifetime Achievement Award" Honorary Golden Leopard Award at the Locarno Film Festival in Switzerland. He lamented, "Only when I received the award did I realize how old I am. I never would have guessed that my past contributions, pain, injuries and persistence would be rewarded several decades later. Now many people are still talking about PROJECT A, RUMBLE IN THE BRONX, so I have to thank the past me. (How would you celebrate?) What is there to celebrate! For me, it's extra."

Jackie Chan revealed that he will participate in the filming of a number of Chinese and American films next year. Would he ever retire? He admitted that he would not want to retire. "In the past ten years I have been looking for breakthroughs in my acting journey, hoping that the audience will recognize me as not only an action star but also an actor who can handle dramas and comedy. I am very grateful for the support of investors, directors and screenwriters. As long as investors approach me, I will keep making movies." He also revealed that he expected to lead the team back to Hong Kong to shoot a new film next year, and invited Michelle Yeoh (Yeung Chi King) to collaborate. Speaking of Maggie Cheung Man Yuk being active in Red Note, would he want to work with her again? He admitted that of course he would like to given the opportunity, but the decision was not up to him. He also congratulated Leung Ka Fai on becoming a grandfather again.

When asked about their feelings about working with Jackie Chan and Leung Ka Fai, Zhou Zhengjie and Wen Junhui thanked the two elders for their care and praised the pleasant atmosphere on the set. Wen Junhui revealed that his mother was a Jackie Chan fan, so she told him to study martial arts scenes. He specifically mentioned that Big Brother would carefully remove the belt buckle for fight scenes, which Jackie Chan praised for his meticulous observation. Zhou Zhengjie said that it was his first time filming an action scene, and the most memorable thing was that Big Brother personally taught him to "the first lesson of learning to fight is to learn to take a beating". Jackie Chan even said that if he were to film a new film in Hong Kong, he would be willing to work with this group of young actors again. However they would have to speak Cantonese.

[2025.08.24] GIGI LEUNG HAS DIFFICULTY OF LETTING GO FROM PLAYING "BAD MOMMY"

Gigi Leung Wing Kei, Kenji Fan Ki Chi and director James Hung Ling Ching attended the sharing session of the movie MY FIRST OF MAY (MO MING JI) yesterday.

Gigi in the film was irresponsible and abandoned her husband and daughter. Although she did not have a lot of screen time, she believed that being able to participate in this high-quality film was a rare opportunity. This time making a special performance, Gigi only focused on two scenes. Yesterday a viewer asked her after watching the film would she like to add any scene? She said that she wanted to film the scene of her abandoning her daughter the most, and director Hung Ling Ching said with a smile that he wanted to film the spark between her as the daughter-in-law and Nina Paw Hee Ching as the mother-in-law. Gigi watched the premiere a few days ago and said that she was very moved: "I cried so hard. The director sat next to me, and I was so emotional that I asked the director to hold my hand tightly. When I saw the scene of reunion with my daughter (Natalie Hsu) through the phone booth, during the filming we were very far away and I couldn't see my daughter's expression and reaction at that time. When I saw my daughter's expression on the screen, the guilt and struggle gushed out even deeper. From my daughter's eyes, I knew that she forgave me!" Gigi told the director that she has been waiting for the movie to be released, because after filming she has not completely let go of the role of "bad mommy" in her mind. When she watched this scene, all the emotions that were yet to be released have been completely let go of. Would Gigi bring her daughter Sofia to see her role as a negative teaching material? Gigi said, "Yes, I will bring her. Aside from seeing me cry at the concerts, she probably never has seen me cry so broken-heartedly; but I told my daughter that it was all acting, it was fake!"

In addition Gigi was a guest performer at Terence Lam Ka Him's concert the night before. She distributed tickets for MY FIRST OF MAY to the audience on the spot and said, "I was very happy when I distributed the tickets. More than 10,000 viewers at the scene said that they would come in to watch this film. Let's all support Hong Kong movies together!"

Making his film debut, Kenji Fan Ki Chi in the film played a social worker. He said that he was glad to have several elders' advice and learned a lot of more acting experience. He remembered that he was already nervous when he first met the director at the audition. The first scene he officially filmed after being selected for the role was to co-star with Aaron Kwok Fu Sing and Lawrence Cheng Tan Shui, but he has already "flubbed" his line in the first shot. Fortunately the two elders patiently gave him advice and allowed him to successfully complete the performance.

Jeffrey Ngai Chun Sun played the leading role in a movie for the first time, partnering with Japanese artists Sara Minami, Naoto Takenaka and Takumi Saitoh, as well as Chu Pak Him and Rosa Velasco (Wai Law Sha) to co-star in the Hong Kong-Japanese film ROAD TO VEDETTA (SAT SAU #4), which was selected for the Fantastic Film Festival (Fantastic Fest) in the U.S. Aside from being the first film in Hong Kong to be selected as one of the seven main competition sections after more than 10 years, and it would also be the only Chinese film at this year's film festival. Ngai Chun Sun played a mysterious assassin in ROAD TO VENDETTA. After learning that the film was chosen he said that he has experienced countless auditions and training, and was super grateful to meet this movie for the first time he played the lead. THE RAOD TO VENDETTA even caught the attention of an international film festival, gave the team a shot of confidence and he hoped that Hong Kong films would garner even more attention on the international stage.

The lead actress Sara Minami is acting in a Hong Kong movie and an action movie for the first time. She had many first challenges during the filming process, which made her feel nervous and stressed but the overall production was very pleasant. Her character "Cloud" was innocent and cute, and felt so fresh when she interprets it. "I am grateful and honored that the film was selected for the Fantastic Fest in the U.S., and I hope to hear the audience's impressions at its world premiere." One of the producers and screenwriters, Mani Man Pui Hing said that after "Ip Man 2" and FLASH POINT (DOH FOR SIN), no Hong Kong film has been selected for this film festival for more than 10 years. She believed that it was the best arrangement of the distribution department, and she thanked the film festival for opening the door to the first film festival for their film.

With his feature film directing debut being selected for an international film festival, the director and one of the screenwriters La-Ying Njo Kui Ying (Leung Kui Ying) felt incredible. "I was really happy to hear that ROAD TO VENDETTA could go to the United States for the world premiere. I truly am extremely happy and my mood was indescribable. The film was very difficult from launch to filming, but every member of the team did their best to complete it. The film festival recognition is a great encouragement to the team."

Joel Chan Shan Chung, Oscar Leung King Fai (Wei Wei), Bob Lam Sing Bun and Christine Ng Wing Mei co-starred in the Lunar New Year film MAMA NOT AGAIN (MA DIK YAU YIU GA), which held an opening ceremony in Kuala Lumpur the day before yesterday (19th). Leung King Fai worked as an actor and a first-time screenwriter, and revealed that he sold his home for production expenses. "If this time doesn't work out , I will have to sleep on the street. I hope that during the ice age of the film industry, actors from Hong Kong and Malaysia will work hard together to make a movie that makes the audience happy and can bring out the message of cherishing their families."

Chan Shan Chung also agreed to donate his personal salary as an investment and a small gesture to do a little bit for the film industry. "Many people say that the film industry is in an ice age, and we have always hoped to make a Lunar New Year film that can bring happiness and warmth to the audience. This year we finally found a few investors. Leung King Fai makes his screenwriting debut, I believe he is definitely capable. Even more thank you to god sister Ng Wing Mei, she knows that the production budget is not much, and she is willing to help at friendly prices." Since having been friends with several co-stars for many years, Chan Shan Chug expected that they would definitely improvise as soon as they would take their places. The 48-year-old Chan Shan Chung played the son of the 56-year-old Ng Wing Mei in the film, which he thought was very reasonable because they were both good looking people. He only did not understand why Lam Sing Bun played his younger brother. Bob countered, "You rely on your appearance, I rely on my the acting within to perform."

Ng Wing Mei was originally very willing to play the role of a mother, but when she learned that her sons were Chan Shan Chung and Lam Sing Bun she was shocked. Fortunately the director arranged for 31- year-old handsome Malaysian actor Daniel Feng Weiquan to play her husband, and she could not stop smiling. Always playful, Ng Wing Kei could not help but touch her "husband's" chin in public. She even stretched out her hand to rub his pectoral muscles like mad, which made the shy Feng Weiquan look embarrassed.

Known as "Expert Dickson", 40-year-old Ivan Yuen Man Tai announced on social platforms the day before yesterday that he would leave 100Most after 10 years of service and return to free agency. Then he announced his whereabouts and joined director Philip Yung Tsz Kwong's Lunar New Year film team as a screenwriter. He wrote, "Thank you Director Yung Tsz Kwong for giving me the opportunity to assist him in his Lunar New Year film. He said to me: I want you to keep the feeling of creating. I was a little moved at that time, and I am grateful to the screenwriters on the team for tolerating me as a newcomer."

"Expert Dickson" revealed that he was worried that he would not dare to jump out of the comfort zone by the age of 45 and try other things, so he planned to develop into a creative path. Last year he made a cameo appearance in the movie Yung Tsz Kwong directed film PAPA, and had a scene with Sean Lau Ching Wan.

"Expert Dickson" is popular online for his image as a Dokuo and a 100Most icon. When Most Kwai Chung went public in March 2018 he delivered a speech, struck the gong and gave media interviews as a company spokesperson. In June, another 100Most original artist Poon Choi Ying Ji (Myth Or Yik Yi) also announced that she was leaving the nest. She also made a special video to recreate the anchor style she first debuted with to say goodbye to fans, "I will say 'goodbye' to everyone in the way we first met, it's my turn to graduate." In the post she thanked everyone for their support over the past 10 years and called on her working partners to update their contact information as she started a new page in her own career.
