Stephen Chow Sing Chi's official Mandarin voice actor Shi Banyu passed away in Beijing on Tuesday morning (the 17th) at age 66. Sing Yeh two nights ago on social media posted Shi Banyu's photo and a message of condolences. "I will always miss You Mr. Shi Banyu."

Shi Banyu was originally named Shi Renmao. Born in Taiwan in 1958, in 1991 he provided his voice for Sing Yeh for the first time in ALL FOR THE WINNER (DOH HUP)'s Mandarin version and became Sing Yeh's official voice actor since then. He provided his voice to Sing Yeh's movies like FIGHT BACK TO SCHOOL (TOH HOK WAI LUNG), FLIRTING SCHOLAR (TONG BAK FU DIM CHAU HEUNG), GOD OF COOKERY (SIK SUN), KING OF COMEDY (HEI KET JI WONG), SHAOLIN SOCCER (SIU LUM JOOK KAU) and KUNG FU HUSTLE (GUNG FU). When Sing Yeh went to Taiwan to make commercials subsequently, Shi Banyu provided his voice for all of them. His exaggerated laughter even became the trademark. Sing Yeh once expressed that Shi Banyu's voice dubbing was too exaggerated, but he was also very grateful to him vas he said that Shi Banyu's voice spread his movies throughout the Chinese communities.

Shi Banyu two years ago was rumored to suffer from a persistent cough and severe weight loss. After examination, he was diagnosed with pulmonary aspergillosis. In June this year he threw out the first pitch for the Chinese Professional Baseball League, thus the news of his passing shocked many. Shi Bny's final social media post said, "Dear old friends and new friends: I am in a rush to go to another world to open a recording studio so I won't playing with everyone for now. I am leaving first Bye Bye."
