Playing the role of the Hung Hing Society's strategist "Chan Yiu" in the YOUNG AND DANGEROUS (GOO WAT JAI) movie series, Andy Lee Do Yu passed away last Friday (3rd) at the age of 71. "Big Boss B" in YOUNG AND DANGEROUS, Ng Chi Hung confirmed the news of Lee Do Yu's passing. Ng Chi Hung responded to the media that Lee Do Yu's friends informed him that Lee passed away in Hong Kong on April 3rd. He recalled that he met Lee Do Yu in 1996 when filming YOUNG AND DANGEROUS, and knew him for 30 years so far. The two have often collaborated in other mob films. He described Lee Do Yu as loving and loyal, and regretted the passing of a good friend. Lee Do Yu faded out of the entertainment industry in his early years, and the two kept in touch. In recent years he would go with friends to Ng Chi Hung's restaurant in Shenzhen for dinner. Lee Do Yu was a student of TVB's 5th Artist Training Class, and his classmates included Stanley Kwan Kam Peng and Lok Ying Kwan. He participated in many TVB dramas in the 1970s, including HEAVEN SWORD AND DRAGON SABER and THE BUND, playing small roles in all of them. In the 1980s he switched to film and played Hung Hing's "Chan Yiu" in the YOUNG AND DANGEROUS series, which left an impression. Since then he played more mob characters. Lee Do Yu faded out of the entertainment industry in 2000 to pursue business, and occasionally made cameos, including in the 2008 movie MY WIFE IS A GAMBLING MAESTRO (NGOR LO POR HAI DOH SING) as the Asian gambling king, and in 2023 he played a lawyer in the TVB drama NIGHT BEAUTIES and had a bed scene with Jacky Cai Jie.

The Federation of Hong Kong Filmmakers spokesman Tin Kai Man confirmed the news of Lee Do Yu's death yesterday, saying that no notice of the funeral arrangements have been announced yet. According to online information, Lee Do Yu's date of birth was February 1968, and many reports say that he was 58 years old. When asked to confirm, Tin Kai Man replied that the correct birth year would be 1955.
