The Best Actor Nick Cheung Ka Fai directed new film KEEPER OF DARKNESS (TOR DEI KUI MOR YUN) has just been released. Two nights ago he was invited to attend a film forum at the City University and share the production highlight with the students. Although the venue only had 200 seats, over 400 people attended. Ka Fai upon his arrival immediately asked why the students still wore so little when the temperature has dropped. A female student said, "Because we come to see you!" Ka Fai reminded the students to be loyal to themselves, which would inevitably be lonely. A student asked him how he faced loneliness and overcame impractical thoughts. Ka Fai admitted that when he was at ATV he indeed due to his loneliness had negative thoughts. Luckily his late sister noticed and became his listener. He felt that even no one would help you with your problems it was not important, the most important to have someone who listened.

Ka Fai said that he has always hoped to exchanged experience with young people. "Young people are impulsive, but I may already be used to being cautious. So I really want to have ideas from when I was young. (Would you share with your daughter?) I try to tell her her father's experience, but she is still too little. I don't want her to grow up too fast and lose her childhood innocence." Speaking of KEEPER's opening day take of HK$ 1 million, he said, "I am not too nervous, I only focus on making an entertaining film for everyone. If I didn't follow the rules please forgive me, because I don't want everyone to see the same Cheung Ka Fai. I am still not too ambitious about being a director."

Francis Ng Chun Yu and Ronald Cheng Chung Kei in the film HOUSE OF WOLVES (NGOK YUN KUK) had many hilarious performances. In the trailer, Cheng Chung Kei played a "bully" village chief in his usual comedy manner. Ng Chun Yu played a charity organization operator with muscular atrophy. They sang, danced, and fought until they turned into a "he he make out session". Cheng Chung Kei even used foul language homophones, but the pronunciation was so hard that it turned foul language. He had several bad takes.

In the Chinese film industry only Kwok Fu Sing would be able to play it.

Sing Sing said that this character's costume was a breakthrough. The audience has never seen him like this. After makeup few would recognize him, some even mistook Patrick Tam Yiu Man for him. Michael Ning (Bak Ji) with the film won the Golden Horse Best Supporting Actor. Sing Sing said that he had what it took to be a good actor. He was very smart, very quickly he was able to accommodate the director's demands. He also revealed that he had interest in directing. When actors reached a certain level they would stop and think. If he reaches this stage then he would direct. For now he did not want to distract himself. First he had to learn more from directors.

The onscreen couple Jan and Chin Yu were asked if they ended up in divorce? Chin Wa said that she had no idea even after the shoot.

After the event, Jan was asked if his wife Cass Phang Ling has seen the film. He said that she has already seen it once but she did not cry. Their daughter noticed the costumes and thought they were very pretty. As for his bed scene, Jan said that his wife did not notice. Perhaps it was too short, or his wife was asleep. Did Phang Ling praise his acting skill? Jan said that he did not ask because it would be very embarrassing. His wife gave neither praised nor criticism.

Recently several new actors shot an alumni reunion scene again. Jan praised Yau Hok Sau for their abilities to impersonate because he lacked specialty, his young version still was able to impersonate him. He absolutely was a master.

How would they celebrate if they break 10 million? Chin Wa felt that everyone should share this joy. She was lucky enough to run into such a good script and get a little piece of the glory. Was she confident about a Hong Kong Film Award nomination? Chin Wa said that she has already reached another level and felt that good scripts would be even more important. Jan said that the parrot in the film performed rather well. Although it had no line it still stole the show. He also said that he was the most pleased with the bed scene in the film, it was wonderful that it took so long to shoot. Chin Wa joked that she really wanted to know which part of the bed scene the director removed. Jan joked that it was removed in its entirety. Actually during the shoot he already did his best.

So Lai Shan did not win the Golden Horse Best New Performer award. She said that when they left the director already told her that she would definitely lose. She thought that she would not be nervous but actually she still was. Was she confident about a Hong Kong Film Award nomination? She hoped that all three new comers will be nominated.
