In this year's Hong Kong Film Award Best Actress battle Zhou Xun has two nominations as she faces Miriam Yeung Chin Wa and film industry newcomer Elanne Kong Yeuk Lam. In terms of experience Zhou Xun of course is beyond her peer, but Yeung Chin Wa and Kong Yeuk Lam also have great chances. This year happens to be Kong Yeuk Lam's 10th year in the business, the first Best Actress award would definitely be a recognition for her and being nominated with her idol Zhou Xun was a gift.
Kong Yeuk Lam signed with her management company at age 16. This year is her 10th year and finally with her excellent performance in the film LOVE LIFTING (GO GUI OI) competes for Best Actress against THE GREAT MAGICIAN (DAI MOR SHOOK SI) and THE SILENT WAR (TING FUNG JEH)'s Zhou Xun, Miriam Yeung Chin Wa and Sammi Cheng Sau Man. Although in terms of generations Kong Yeuk Lam may not have the edge, but in terms of acting her performance has professional recognition.
Kong Yeuk Lam admitted that she was still learning and was not qualified to critique other nominees. Yet Zhou Xun was her idol. She said, "Zhou Xun is academia style and full of acting experience, her acting is beyond anyone's doubt. she actually is my most important idol. Among actresses I worship her the most. Her acting is magical in front of the camera, every look and expression in the film have great flavor and are very attractive."
The outside felt Yeung Chin Wa's comedy performance was especially outstanding. Kong Yeuk Lam said, "I admire Yeung Chin Wa, because not only in comedy she has a lot of flavor in a variety of films. Her laughter and tears both are very influential."
Among her competition, Kong Yeuk Lam has the least experience. The outside pointed out that this was her obstacle to Best Actress. She said, "Confidence comes from every professional voter's recognition, which gives me the chance to be nominated. The nomination to me is already an award. I never thought about any reward from this film. My past work has been mostly young people ensemble films. I can say my learning stage was in the past, then in LOVE I demonstrated everything that I have learned all at once. I only hope that this film can make the outside recognize me. I never thought about the award. So when you ask me if I feel any regret, there is no loss in existence. I can only say that I already received my reward. I thank every voter very much."

After the Pang Brothers have a stable footing in the film industry, co-directors have appeared in recent years like Stephen Chow Sing Chi and Derek Kwok Chi Kin and the COLD WAR Hong Kong Film Award Best Director nominees Sunny Luk Kim Ching and Longman Leung Lok Man. As for the joint director trend, Luk Kim Ching stated that he and his partner Lok Man have different views on film but similar concepts. He even said, "Everyone can divide up the work, like Lok Man's art is better so he mainly handles it. I am managing funding and personnel, which I will continue in the future."
Once as an assistant director he admitted that the director chair gave him pressure. In comparison he would be more familiar with its operation within. When asked his first film's good review, did he have a shot of confidence? He said, "Yes, I can't go back. No one is a factory director. Instead they would spend time to create a story." Speaking of the competition this year, Luk Kim Ching said that he was honored to be nominated with them. He even revealed that he picked Law Chi Leung and Soi Cheang Pou-Soi.
