[2024.12.25] FORMER TVB SUPPORT ACTOR CHO CHAI PASSED AWAY FROM ILLNESS AT AGE 83

Having worked for TVB for many years and participated in dramas such as THE LEGEND OF THE BOOK AND SWORD, HEAVEN SWORD AND DRAGON SABRE, DEMI-GODS AND SEMI-DEVILS, THE LEGEND OF THE CONDOR HERORES, THE FINAL COMBAT, INSTINCT, and DETECTIVE INVESTIGATION FILES II, support actor Cho Chai (originally named Cho Chok Sun) passed away in the hospital due to illness on the 10th of this month at the age of 83. The family would begin services this Saturday (the 28th) at the Universal Funeral Parlor and the funeral the next day. Cho Chai's younger brother revealed that when his brother died, his wife and pair of children were by his side. Although the family was reluctant to part, but his brother has been suffering from illness for many years. The passing was a relief.

Reportedly Cho Chai retired many years ago due to knee problems and diabetes. Then he often visited to the mainland with his wife. Cho Chai's younger brother also pointed out that his brother had no last wishes because his children were already professionals.

In September last year, Cho Chai met with his old colleagues So Yan Chi and Yu Mo Lin for tea with his wife. Earlier he filmed a promotional video for the Southern District Rehabilitation Line. In the video although he looked much thinner but was in decent spirits. He revealed that his long term illness required scheduled appointments. Several years ago his kidney function was only at 10%. After surgery he relied on wheel chair for mobility. On two days every week he went to the hospital for appointments and kidney dialysis. Because of his lack of mobility, transportation has been difficult each other. Thus he thanked the volunteers for their help.
