Josie Ho Chiu Yi and her husband Conroy Chan Chi Chung, Iman
Taheri, Andrew Lam Man Chung, Susan Shaw Yam Yam, etc. attended the
premiere of the international version of the movie "DREAM HOME" (WAI DOR
LEI AH YUT HO) the night before to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the
film's release.
Ho Chiu Yi since founding the film company 852 Films in 2006 has
produced over 20 films. DREAM HOME was the first. She pointed out that
the movie was released 15 years ago, which has not been a long time and
not considered a box office hit. Due to the Hong Kong film censorship
restrictions, the bloody, violent scenes were unable to be completely on
display for the audience to see. Now with the international version
viewers would be able to see the full version. Chiu Yi pointed out that
the film was not the box office champion that year, but it was very
sensational. She won the Best Actress Award at the 43rd Sitges
International Film Festival in Spain, and the film was also sold to
theaters around the world. "An English distribution company arranged
for the film to be released in theaters in England and Scotland. They
even invited me to promote the film. I was very surprised!" Would she
plan to make a sequel? Producer Chan Chi Chung pointed out that in the
past there were foreign companies that wanted to buy the copyright and
remake it into a drama, while Chiu Yi said that overseas studios,
including Hollywood studios, have asked to buy copyrights for filming,
but she felt that this was the first "baby" of her film company. Even
remakes would have to be authentic.
Chan Chi Chung had to undergo multiple surgeries due to a torn
aorta and was gradually recovering, but he had to go to the United
States for surgery close to the heart due to health problems earlier.
Two nights ago Chi Chung looked decent and was even full of smile. When
asked about his health, Chi Chung said, "I am already much better, I am
very happy to be able to come out and see everyone!" Chiu Yi said that
her husband has completed an operation, but he could not have the aortic
surgery for now because he has undergone many surgeries in the past few
years. The doctor did not approve of him to have this major surgery.
Chi Chung said, "I don't want to have it either, as long as the blood
pressure is well controlled it should be no problem." At this time Chiu
Yi also pulled up her sleeves, showed the bruises on her arms and said
with a wry smile, "I have a lot of action scenes in THE MAGE 2 (SUP FONG
FAT SI 2). Earlier for on a wire scene, I hug a stuntman like a koala
but the wires scratched me like this. Both arms and inner thighs were
all bruised, and even the meniscus was torn. Yet the movie would have
to be finished before February 6th, only then I could go to the hospital
for treatment." Also in THE MAGE 2, Iman Taheri was also covered in
scars but he felt the fight scenes were a lot of fun. He said that he
could not show everyone the scars but the injuries have not scared him
away from acting. "I have gained a lot of experience and I thought it
was a lot of fun." Chiu Yi laughed and said that in the film she played
the role of a scavenger mage, which was equivalent to being a garbage
woman. When filming the romantic effect of the falling cherry blossoms,
she actually picked up the cherry blossoms that fell on the ground and
used them again. Because they were already filled with dusts on the
ground, after the shoot Iman's eyes were infected. She said, "Iman
worked in an armor. Although he was very hot, he also looked very
cool and he was very happy. I was a glutton for punishment, playing
the scavenger mage and having to play with garbage on the set."

The world of Kabuki, the elaborately stylised, male Japanese
theatrical tradition, is the setting for director Lee Sang-il's epic
melodrama of artistic ambition, rivalry and betrayal. It is an
adaptation of a bestseller by Shuichi Yoshida, and weaves in stunning
stagings of classic Kabuki tales that wowed audiences at Cannes
Directors' Fortnight. In 1960s Nagasaki, after the death of his yakuza
father, gifted teenager Kikuo is taken under the wing of famed Kabuki
actor Hanjiro Hanai, even though the great performer already has a
son, Shunsuke, who has dedicated his life to the art. Over fifty
years, the relationship of the two disciples entwines and twists, and
their hearts suffer as much yearning, glory and downfall as their on-
stage alter-egos.

In the often overlooked, aging neighborhoods of Scarborough, Ontario,
four Hong Kong immigrants who arrived in the 1990s quietly unravel in
middle age. Once a rising star in Hong Kong, a devoted carer for her
elderly mother, a single mother struggling to make ends meet, and a
widower yearning for connection – they each clutch fading fragments
of dignity, community, and hope in a place as worn and forgotten as
they are. The film portrays these fragile souls reaching out for
connection – and discovering how far loneliness can stretch. Growing
up within this immigrant community, the director witnessed firsthand
the resilience of immigrants, creating a poignant meditation on
displacement, aging, and the delicate threads that bind us all.

[ VANCOUVER INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL 2025 ]
Timothy Yeung's film is a story of big losses, small triumphs, and
moments of grace amid the grind of capitalism — in other words, life
itself. Four Hong Kong immigrants are living lives of desperation in
Scarborough, Ontario: Dan was a pop singer on the rise before his move
to Canada, now he's barely scraping by; Eva is a lonely woman whose
commitment to her aging mother has held her back in life; Fan is a
part-time sex worker struggling to break into real estate; Tony is an
aging widower whose factory job is at risk.
Through these characters, Yeung explores diasporic alienation,
economic hardship, and social isolation. His film is rich in cultural
specificity, but that never obstructs his wider view. Building
outwards from private hopes and personal pain, he creates a rich
social document that cradles within it four precious human portraits.
Tam, Yeung, Lee, and Wong are superb — their performances ring with
commitment and authenticity.

bring his son home.
Louis Koo has dinner with the Performing Artists Guild members and tries his luck with the card drawing game courtesy of on.cc
The film BACK TO THE PAST as of the day before yesterday had the
latest box office figure in Hong Kong was HK$ 77,314,972, which was a
good result. In Taiwan, it has also accumulated a box office of NT
$12 million (about HK$3.11 million). Playing the role of "King of Qin",
Raymond Lam Fung once said that when Louis Koo Tin Lok and Jessica Hsuan
(Suen Huen) went to Taiwan to meet the audience, he called in and
expressed his hope to take the time to meet fans there. Lam Fung indeed
would be a man of his words, later he would visit Taiwan to thank the
audience. It would also his first trip there to promote a movie.
A few days ago Koo Tin Lok (Goo Jai) had a dinner with the
members of the new Performing Artists Guild, and played a card drawing
game with Louis Cheung Kai Chung and Kaki Sham. Whoever drew the
character card of "Hong Siu Lung" could get the role in the next movie.
Goo Jai said, "I am Hong Siu Lung!" Since Cheung Kai Chung has already
participated in the film, he was asked by the people present to give up
the role to others if he was selected. Cheung Kai Chung joked, "Then if
I don't win, I won't be in the next installment." In the end no one
drew "Hong Siu Lung", so it was changed to whoever drew the "King" drawn
by Goo Jai would win. In the end Cheung Kai Chung really won and he
shouted excitedly, "Everyone remember to go to the theater to support
BACK TO THE PAST."
The movie Goo Jai has produced in recent years have all been
critical and commercial successes. In addition to his own efforts, a
hidden master behind him has been rumored to arrange feng shui arrays
for him, and dispatch hot water pots and golden bells to promote his
career. In addition, becoming a hit with the popularity of the
character "Sin Yau" in the film, Joyce Tang Lai Ming recently chartered
a show to watch the movie with fans and celebrate her 50th birthday.
Fans sent an ingenious cake, which had a still of her 25 years ago. Yet
as long as the surface is burned off with a lighter, her portrait in the
film BACK would appear. She commented, "Thank you to a group of babies
for enjoying BACK TO THE PAST with me, So Sweet."

Chung Suet Ying gives away fai chun on the street
The police is on hand to maintain order
Keung To heads to Paris Fashion Week courtesy of mingpao.com
A member of the group MIRROR Edan Lui Cheuk On together with
Chung Suet Ying and Jiro Li Sheung Ching went to Causeway Bay yesterday
for a pop-up movie promotion event. For the Lunar New Year film THE
SNOWBALL IN A SUNNY DAY (GUM DOR BO) to distribute "Mark Six" lai see
and fai chun on the streets, more than 100 passers-by and fans filled
the streets early in the morning and needed the police to maintain
order . In order to prevent even further chaos, Edan after his
interview left in a vehicle without giving away lai see and left the
task to Chung Suet Ying and Lee Sheung Ching. Regarding this year's
other Hong Kong Lunar New Year film NIGHT KING (YEH WONG) starring Dayo
Wong Tze Wah and Sammi Cheng Sau Man, Edan hoped that everyone would
support both Lunar New Year films.
The three THE SNOWBALL IN A SUNNY DAY actors also came to the
pop up to wish the public a Happy New Year in advance. Speaking of
preparing the amount of lai see, they humorously pointed out that once
THE SNOWBALL would open everyone would know. Edan said that at this
sudden publicity event in the district, he felt that everyone was very
supportive, and hoped that everyone would go to the movies together to
support their Lunar New Year film during the Lunar New Year. The box
office goal would be "hundreds of millions", so it would be able to
live up to the Chinese title. The reporter asked them how they would
pump up the box office after that? Lee Sheung Ching joked that he would
wear briefs for 100 million at the box office, and Edan joined in and
said that he would wear bikini briefs to thank the audience when the box
office would reach 300 million. Edan is celebrating his 29th birthday
today, and his wish was to have a little higher box office so he would
be confident. This year's Lunar New Year films would also include the
Wong Tze Wah and Cheng Sau Man starred NIGHT KING. He said that for
Hong Kong to have two Chinese New Year films was rare, and it is best
for everyone to watch both in support. Speaking of the costumes of the
actors in NIGHT KING have less cloth and are sexier, Edan said with a
smile, "We have many revealing scenes. Not only am I topless, neither
the child actor nor the dog are wearing clothes. We are stronger than
they are, they are wearing clothes."
Edan revealed that he would spend his birthday at work, but
earlier his sister had birthday dinner with him to celebrate. This time
they no longer took a kissy photo. When talking about the silhouette
photo of Edan being caught taking the microphone and triggering a
hilarious dialogue with his friend Ryan Choi Yin on the Internet, Edan
laughed and said, "In the future, I will be more careful with where to
put the microphone, and the conversation with him was a war of words.
No one would need to take it as the gospel." Did he meet the truth
in advertising laws? He said, "First of all I was never specific about
my product, I won't reveal too much private stuff, Ultimately it's
powerful!" In addition his fans have built a public toilet named after
him to celebrate his birthday, Edan thanked his fans for their
thoughtfulness and felt that it was very creative and kind. In the
future if he would have the opportunity to shoot a program there, he
would stop by to check in. However he probably would not try this
toilet, or clog it up again. Otherwise he would have to take MIRROR to
unclog it together.
MIRROR and COLLAR are now under MakerVille's "Vice President of
Artist Management, Performance and Concert Business" department, which
Edan believed that it should have a good impact. Because MIRROR has 12
people, and now having more people to take care of them would absolutely
be a good thing. However some pointed out that his teammate Keung To
would switch to another record company, Edan asked instead if he would
transfer to the Euro League. He did not know whether the rumor was
made up or why it would appear, but as far as he knew nothing like that
has happened. The reporter asked if Keung To really changed companies,
would he be afraid that MIRROR would be disbanded? Edan said that if
Keung To would truly sign with another company, he would first wish him
well. As for this question he would have to ask the company how it
would handle it. As Ian (Chan Cheuk Yin) has also said, MIRROR has
individual contracts and group contracts. Yet he really have not heard
of the transfer, so no one would need to to worry.

Jessica Hsuan reveals that her appetite in her youth has frightened many male artists courtesy of mingpao.com
Jessica Hsuan (Suen Huen) attended the launching ceremony of the
"Hong Kong people's farmland" project and the development of agriculture
and fisheries yesterday to support Hong Kong's re-development of
agriculture and fisheries.
Suen Huen revealed that because she loved to eat too much and her
appetite was amazing, she scared many male artists when she first entered
the industry. "They feel scared, as a female artist I would eat so much.
They even laughed at me for wasting rice, since no matter how much I ate
I was still so thin." When asked if she has scared Louis Koo Tin Lok
(Goo Jai), she joked, "No, Goo Jai has always treated me like a guy."
She admitted that she has never hid her true nature in front of new
friends. "In addition to eating a lot, I have a wild and crazy
personality and I don't pretend to be something I am not. If you like
the real me then go ahead, otherwise there is no need to develop
anything." Suen Huen revealed that her past boyfriends all liked that
they were able to eat with her without a care.
Speaking of her movie BACK TO THE PAST (CHUM CHUN GEI) achieving
great results in Hong Kong and Malaysia, Suen Huen revealed that on the
23rd of this month, she will go to Malaysia with Goo Jai, Raymond Lam
Fung and others to thank the audience. She once asked Goo Jai when
would there be time off, he replied, "Don't even think about getting
time off." and she agreed. Regarding the audience's expectation
of the extended version, she said that she knew that many family scenes
have been shot and believed that they would be included. Yet she was in
favor of editing to be tight rather than loose, and the audience's
perception should be the most important.
Suen Huen was also looking forward to making a sequel, as long
as Goo Jai called for participation she would definitely participate.
She also revealed that Goo Jai pointed out that the movie has a third
ending that even she has not seen, but emphasized that the most
important thing is that the audience will have a good time. She said
excitedly that if the movie would be screened globally, she can tour
around the world to thank the audiences and accumulate miles. She said
with a smile, "I hope BACK TO THE PAST will give me a diamond (membership)."

The winners of the "2025 Hong Kong Film Critics Society Awards"
were announced yesterday. After 14 years in the industry, SOMEONE LIKE
ME (JUENG NGOR JEH YEUNG DIK OI CHING)'s Fish Liew Chi Yu achieved a
breakthrough of zero and won the "Best Actress" award at the film awards
ceremony for the first time; while Louis Koo Tin Lok won the Best Actor
title for the movie BEHIND THE SHADOWS (SI GA JING TAM), which also won
Best Director. Since this awards ceremony has been regarded as a
prelude to the Hong Kong Film Awards in April, the two are expected to
go to the next level. CIAO UFO received Best Film, UNIDENTIFIED MURDER
(UFO LEI KEI MING ONG) won Best Screenplay. 4 film releases that were
eligible VALLEY OF THE SHADOW OF DEATH (BUT SEH JI JUI), FINCH AND
MIDLAND (GUM TIN YING GOR HUNG GO HING), VITAL SIGNS (SUNG YUEN TOH
JUNG) and MOTHER BHUMI all were unable to participate in the Hong Kong
Film Awards' initial selection. The Hong Kong Film Critic Society
responded yesterday that the 4 aforementioned films were among the
discussion. Among them VALLEY's George Au Chun Ho and MOTHER HUMI's
Fan Bingbing were in the third round of voting for Best Actor and Best
Actress.
Koo Tin Lok with BEHIND won his first Hong Kong Film Critic
Society Best Actor award, crushing THE SHADOW'S EDGE (BO FUNG JUI
YING)'s Tony Leung Ka Fai, SOMEONE LIKE ME's Carlos Chan Ka Lok,
UNIDENTIFIED MURDER's Peter Chan Charm Man and SHADOW's Au Chun Ho. The
Society praised Koo Tin Lok's performance for not being detailed in
emotions, "its grasp of the complicated journey of the heart was
precise and accurate, lifelike and valued both the dramatic and the
comedic. He was in full control of his interaction with his co-stars in
the film, displaying the presence and the skills of a top class actor."
Koo Tin Lok said, "As 2026 began, another good news has come. I am
truly so happy, so excited! Thank you Hong Kong Film Critic Society's
recognition of me and the film BEHIND THE SHADOW, I hope everyone would
continue to support good Hong Kong films."
Reportedly the battle for Best Actress was quite fierce this
time. In addition to Fish, BEHIND's Chrissie Chau Sau Na, SHE'S GOT NO
NAME's Zhang Ziyi, MOTHER BHUMI's Fan Bingbing and PEG O' MY HEART
(SHOOK MUNG)'s Fala Chen were also in the running in the third round of
voting. In the end the race was between Liew Chi Yu and Chau Sau Na.
The Society rated Liew Chi Yu started with the appearance of a girl with
cerebral palsy, consciously treated her body as software she defined
that character's container and unique appearance, suppressed voice,
right wrist and lower body, etc. The sexual desire and emotions that
are tumbling inside were expressed through the most direct left finger.
"Liew Chi Yu not only imitate the physically immobile, but also
connecting and bringing to life the body and the heart. She played Ah
Mei who ignores the restrictions of the realistic conditions and pursues
happiness confidently."
Speaking of breaking out this time, Fish admitted, "It is
the first time I have won an award from the Film Critics Society, which
means a lot. The role I played this time is one of the rare happy ones
I have played, and I hope to preserve this beautiful texture and become
the nutrient for Liew Chi Yu to continue to move forward. (The Hong
Kong Film Awards also have 5 films that have made you eligible for Best
Actress.) I would obviously be happy to have awards, but my wish has
always been to continue filming and take on more fun and challenging
roles." She did not forget to thank her co-star Chan Ka Lok and her
onscreen Mama Alice Lau Nga Lai, as well as the production team, Emperor
boss Albert Yeung Sau Sing, producer Stanley Kwan Kam Peng, etc.
The Jonathan Li Tsz Chun and Chou Yu Man directed BEHIND THE
SHADOW crushed SHE'S GOT NO NAME's Peter Chan Ho Sun, Han Shuai and
UNIDENTIFIED MURDER's Kwok Ka Hei and Lee Chun Kit, etc. to win Best
Director, Li Tsz Chun's second after DUST TO DUST (DAI BAK GOR YIM YI
YUN). Best Film had several films with their own supporters and the
competition was ferocious. After five rounds of voting, CIAO UFO
battled THE SHADOW'S EDGE in the end. The former with genuine emotions
touched people's hearts to win Best Film. The Society at the same time
announced the Recommendation Awards outside Best Film, the six
recommended films included UNIDENTIFIED MURDER, BEHIND THE SHADOW, GIRL,
PAWS LAND, ANOTHER WORLD and THE SHADOW'S EDGE.
The eligibility of the 2025 Hong Kong Film Critic Society Awards
was first run releases that have publicly sold tickets at Hong Kong
cinemas last year, with no less than 5 shows within a week of
release. 51 Hong Kong films met the criteria; about 15 reached the
final discussion. The 4 eligible film releases VALLEY OF THE SHADOW OF
DEATH, FINCH AND MIDLAND, VITAL SIGNS and MOTHER BHUMI were excluded
from the Hong Kong Film Awards primaries. The Hong Kong Film Critic
Society was asked whether the 4 films were included, and the response
was that all 4 were in the discussion.

that all thanks to the good master Chow Yun Fat to lead them to health,
and revealed that Cheng Juk Si jumped the most grades, invited to
challenge 10 kilometers after joining the "Running Club" for 9 months.
With silver hair and sunglasses, when Chow Yun Fat crossed the
finish line everyone cheered. He took about two hours to complete the
10km, jokingly saying that compared to last year's half-marathon in more
than two hours the result was good. He revealed that this time more
than 20 people ran together, which was the most so far. "I switched
from half marathon to running 10km to start the run with friends, it was
the biggest group ever". Was it a gathering of three generations? He
joked that Wong Chui Yu was the most "green", then pointed to Paw Hee
Ching. He revealed that she has completed 17 kilometers in Japan
earlier. Paw Hee Ching publicly thanked Chow Yun Fat, "He 'saved' us
with running and led the step towards health. Cheng Juk Si has jumped
the most grades. He has only joined the 'Running Club' for 9 months,
and Fat Gor (Chow Yun Fat) has already invited him to challenge 10
kilometers." Cheng Juk Si said: "From 0 to 10, all thanks to Fat Gor
the good master. I don't feel that I don't have much fitter, after the
run I feel very rough, but it is so enjoyable." Lau Kong revealed that
he ran into Chow Yun Fat once on Tai Mo Shan and joined the running
club; Chow Yun Fat laughed and said that Lau Kong wanted to withdraw
from the club after running this time. Together they were several
hundreds years old, he hoped to encourage the elderly to exercise more
and maintain physical and mental health.
Chow Yun Fat once said that he wanted to run to the age of 80,
but now he hoped to run to the age of 120. He said humorously, "The
best would be admitting more and more students, I will charge a
membership fee of 20,000 per person per month. There are more than 20
on this day, so the number adds more. I can't be without pocket money."
Why not drag Lo Hoi Pang (Brother Pang) to run together? He joked, "I
can't accept poor people like Brother Pang, they can't afford it. He
has made so much money but won't give me any. The richest (future) is
Wong Chui Yu, who has two spots with her husband. Brother Kent (Cheng
Juk Si) is the richest, his family of five runs together." He greeted
countless people along the race with a smile and joked that his arms
were tired from waving. He was happy to take this opportunity to meet
everyone every year, which was very rare.
The Hong Kong film industry is in the cold winter period, and
Paw Hee Ching believed that spring would come after winter. Would Chow
Yun Fat "out of the mountain" to save the film industry? Chow Yun Fat
said that relying on him alone could not save much. Has he been
charging too much? He said, "If no one asked me to make movies, how do
you know that I charge too much? Now I have changed my career to teach
running." Regarding the 44th Hong Kong Film Awards candidate list that
left off 4 eligible films without specifying the reason, Chow Yun Fat
said, "I haven't seen it, I will answer you after seeing it."
Siu Ching Nam participated in the marathon for the first time,
and felt very romantic when crossing the finish line with his wife
Priscilla Wong Chui Yu. Wong Chui Yu laughed at herself as an old and
weak soldier. She was too weak when she was a child, so she had a
doctor's certificate to exempt her from physical education class. Since
running with Chow Yun Fat for 4 and a half years, her health has
improved significantly and she happily completed 10 kilometers. Would
she consider having another child since her health has improved? Wong
Chui Yu said that she was too old and would not consider it. The
husband and wife were happy to run with their seniors. Wong Chui Yu
said that Lau Kong would be almost 80 years old this year, and he ran
faster yesterday. Many people along the road greeted him, as if wishing
Lau Kong a happy 80th birthday.
The marathon has always been popular with artists and yesterday
many familiar faces were seen at the race. They included Calvin Choy
Yat Chi, Catherine Chau Ka Yee, Raymond Wong Ho Yin, Inez Leong Lok In,
Jackie Li Jinkai, James Ng Yip Kwan and others. Terence Lam Ka Him
immediately challenged the half marathon for his first race and finished
around 2 hours and 13 minutes, a result he was pleased with. He
revealed that last year for his Hong Kong Coliseum concerts, he ran to
train his breathing with a coach and realized he could run pretty well.
So he kept training and he boasted that he had a little potential.
"This time friends and clients invited me. I have always liked to jump
grades for challenges, and completed something 'outrageous' that I
really wanted to do. I don't want to switch to the athletic type yet,
my legs still lack muscles and strength. I am interested in keep
running, I would worry about whether I would challenge the full marathon
later." Would he run with his friend Tyson Yoshi? "I don't know how he
is with long distance running. Explosive type like him should be better
with short distance." When he reached the finish line, because he
realized that his shorts were loose he turned around quickly and tied
the ropes again. He then picked up a medal for photos, but it was a
10K medal.
MIRROR member Alton Wong Chi Tak finished the 10K around 49
minutes. He estimated that he would finish within 50 minutes so the
result was decent. He revealed that before the race he was so anxious
he could not sleep. Originally several MIRROR brothers would run with
him, but they could not make the time. In the end only he persisted.
His group mate Keung To's contract was rumored to have come to term
and would sign with another record company after. He said, "He was
rumored to be switching clubs? I wouldn't switch jobs to running, as
I still enjoy this job very well. I would respond like AK (Kong Yip
Sun), I don't have an understanding on the matter. Sometimes, it would
be good for some things to have discussion value."
Nicholas Yuen Ho Chung and Roxanne Ho Pui Ga last year competed
as a rumored couple, this year they have been said to have broken up but
they still ran the 10K together. Also present was Maggie Wong Mei Ki.
Yuen Ho Chung after the race waited for Ho Pui Ga to return to the
finish line for photos. This was the third year Ho Pui Ga ran the race.
Last year she was running sick, and this year she ran again. After the
race she was very excited to get photos with Chow Yun Fat and Lam Ka Him.
Yuen Ho Chung said that two nights ago he watched the English
Premier League soccer match and did not sleep until 11 PM, but he felt
that he was in decent condition. He also pointed out that running could
burn up energy, so the past few days he deliberately ate more. Ho Pui
Ga said that she did not have breakfast and hoped to run on an empty
stomach to burn fat.
Another young TVB artist Jessica Liu Wai Yee completed her
first half marathon in 2 hours 11 minutes. Although she has been
exercising, she admitted that the run was rough. "I really have done
my best, when I crossed the finish line I almost threw up. Normally
when I drove the Western tunnel I didn't realize that it was so long
and steep! After crossing the finishing line I sat on the street and
didn't want to move......luckily my back didn't act up today, it no
longer hurt a lot!" Honey Ho Wing Cheuk also ran the half and revealed
that in March she would run the Shizuoka marathon in Japan, so
yesterday "safety was the most important" in order to avoid affecting
the performances in the races later.
Shiga Lin and Carlos Chan Ka Lok ran the 10K and crossed
together. She also wiped the sweats off her husband. Chan Ka Lok was
absent due to illness last year. This year they ran as a couple as they
wished. They revealed that he got sick a week ago and relied on
medication to keep it under control. Later his wife got sick but still
insisted on running. They looked forward to challenging the half
marathon next year.

Famous Hong Kong kung fu actor who played the villain in
Stephen Chow Sing Chi's movie "KUNG FU HUSTLE" (GONG FU), Bruce Leung
Siu Lung died of illness on January 14th at the age of 77. According
to the news his family is currently handling the funeral in a low-key
manner, and the funeral ceremony is tentatively scheduled to be held
in Longgang, Shenzhen on January 26th.
The day before Leung Siu Lung's death (13th), some people still
shared photos of dinner with him. In the photo he and his friends were
having hot pot in Luohu, Shenzhen, and he seemed to be in good spirit.
No one would have expected that he passed away the next day.
Martial arts superstar Jackie Chan posted a photo with Leung
Siu Lung on Weibo with a condolence, "Just returned to Beijing, I was
shocked to hear the news of Mr. Leung Siu Lung's death. I neither dare
nor was willing to believe it for a while......in my memory, he was
always that kung fu expert who excelled in many traditional martial
arts and able to fight with his own style in each one. He applied what
he had learned all his life to film and television works, and was a very
excellent action director. At the same time as an actor, he shaped so
many classic characters. The audience deeply loves him and colleagues
like us could not admire him more. Brother Leung, it's snowing in
Beijing. It's very cloudy, I miss you..."
Once collaborated with Leung Siu Lung on "KUNG FU HUSTLE",
Stephen Chow Sing Chi posted old photos on IG stories in mourning with
the caption "Forever Missed Mr. Leung Siu Lung". Good friend Tin Kai
Man missed him and pointed out that earlier he met up with Leung Siu
Lung, whose health has always been very good. Tin Kai Man revealed to
the media that Leung Siu Lung passed away due to heart failure. He
remembered when he first got into he business he had a great
relationship with Leung Siu Lung and lamented that "it would always
remain in my heart." He said that the most important inheritance Leung
Siu Lung left to Chinese film was real kung fu, with his skills he won
the adoration of the audience, displayed his demand for himself and
spirit of pursuing perfect and worthy of learning from. Tin Kai Man
said that he has not yet contacted Leung Siu Leung's family, but knew
that his family has said that they wanted to keep the funeral low key.
Hence they would be more suitable to discuss it.
Leung Siu Lung's social platform was still updated daily after
his passing, his account has probably been handed over to his team to
continue to be operated. After the news of his death, his account also
posted last night. The post was dated January 14th, suspected to the
farewell letter and final words that Leung Siu Lung left for his fans.
"Please forgive me for not saying goodbye, just pretend that I have
gone to a very far away place to make movies. Originally I wanted to
keep it a secret, so the closed door disciples have been posting videos
as usual. I like to have a little sense of mystery. Please properly
live on for me. Love is always here, remember that I love you."
Formerly known as Leung Choi Sun, Leung Siu Lung has practiced
martial arts such as Wing Chun and karate since childhood, and became a
stuntman at the age of 15. In 1973 he starred in the movie LITTLE
SUPERMAN (SUN LUNG WOOT FU). In the 70s of the last century, along with
Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan, and Ti Lung, he was known as the "Four Little
Dragons" in the Hong Kong entertainment industry. In 1976 he played Huo
Yuanjia's apprentice and national hero "Chen Zhen" in the Hong Kong TV
series LEGENDARY FORK and THE FIST, which were popular in the mainland
at the time. He also became one of the most prestigious martial arts
stars in Hong Kong in the early 80s of the last century.
After that, Leung Siu Lung changed careers until his comeback in
2004, playing the villain role in the movie "KUNG FU HUSTLE". His
popularity rose again and he is still talked about by fans now. However
Leung Siu Lung and Chow Sing Chi's collaboration was less than pleasant,
as he expressed his displeasure multiple times in past interviews. He
insisted against calling him Sing Yeh. "Calling him Sing Yeh would be
insulting myself, I would only call him Director." He despised the
talk that "Chow Sing Chi made him 'famous'", and was upset at his KUNG
FU HUSTLE salary. He said that it was not enough to match his business
revenue in a month and even clearly rejected working with Chow Sing Chi
again. Aside from "not being paid fully after the job was done", Chow
Sing Chi also made movies "without a script". The cast had to listen to
his direction on the set, which was enormously stressful.
Leung Siu Lung had two marriages in his life. His first wife
was singer Irene Ryder (Lai Oi Lin). They had had a daughter Anne but
were divorced in the early 1980s. Lai Oi Ling passed away in 2024. In
1995 he remarried and had a pair of children with his second wife with
Song Xiang, who was 20 years his junior.

The Dayo Wong Tze Wah and Sammi Cheng Sau Man starred in
A GUILTY CONSCIENCE (DUK SIT DAI JONG)'s Jack Ng Wai Lun directed Lunar
New Year film NIGHT KING (YEH WONG). Wong Tze Wah watched what he ate
and trained his muscles to show off his figure to battle Cheng Sau Man
in bed. NIGHT KING's backdrop is a night club. Wong Tze Wah said that
in the film he used three lifetimes worth of foul language and smoked
ten lifetimes worth of cigarette. He joked that he sacrificed his lungs
for the film. In addition he also praised Alan Yeung Wai Lun by name
and said that he would become another Hong Kong comedic actor with this
film.
Wong Tze Wah and Cheng Sau Man in NIGHT KING played night club
manager Brother Foon and CEO Sister V, a complicated pair of partners.
They were both former lovers and rivals. They even had bed scenes.
Wong Tze Wah for the bed scene worked out everyday. Director Ng Wai
Lun said, "After shooting this scene, the first thing Tze Wah said to
me, 'Do you know how long I have been on a diet for this scene? You
left it until the end to shoot.' This time truly has been rough for Tze
Wah."
Wong Tze Wah said that working with Cheng Sau Man officially
has been very smooth. "As soon as production began we have already
begun to have natural chemistry. This type of chemistry is a little
like rivals and a little like lovers. This emotion naturally comes,
which I thought was pretty interesting." Aside from Cheng Sau Man, Wong
Tze Wah also had the same unspeakable chemistry with A GUILTY CONSCIENCE
staff Renci Yeung Sze Wing, Louise Wong Dan Nei and Fish Liew Chi Yu.
With the new additions Mandy Tam Man Huen, Hazel Lam Hei Tung and
Sumling Li, he said that girls were numerous and pretty in this film,
wherever he looked on the set were pretty girls. "My eyes didn't know
where to look......sometimes it was a little awkward, because everyone
were dressed very sexily. This line-up, I believe in the past 20 years
of Hong Kong films, no one has seen before. Everyone has been very
focused, living up to their part as dance escorts. If you ask me, this
time developed from the few girls in A GUILTY CONSCIENCE to a scene with
this many people, if I have to give a grade I would give 10,000 points."
Wong Tze Wah praised by name Yeung Wai Lun (Ah Lun) as his
subordinate Earth. "I am really worried for Earth. After performing in
NIGHT KING, he could no longer play other roles. Because he has already
become another Hong Kong comedic actor, every scene that has Ah Lun is
very funny. When everyone comes, why not bring some expectations. I
believe you won't be disappointed." Wong Tze Wah revealed that in
making NIGHT KING he spoke three lifetimes worth of foul language and
smoked ten lifetimes of cigarettes. "I have to stress to everyone not
to learn from us when seeing us smoke, I really sacrificed my lungs for
this movie! Anyway, in the night club world, no matter men or women,
everyone uses foul language, smoke. In order to create a realistic
night club world, I have to make the sacrifice once for NIGHT KING."
Ng Wai Lun revealed that he has put a lot of thought into
Brother Foon and Sister V's hotel "catch up" scene. "Adult
relationships are very complicated, I like this complicated feeling
very much. I have always wanted to write a relationship that travels
between deep love, hatred, concern, disdain, help, harm, loyalty and
betrayal, this time it is placed on Brother Foon and Sister V. The
focus of their hotel room scene is on their complicated feeling. Their
relationship scene brews from the gambling table, starting with them
testing each other, to when they team up to win big, they get so
excited that they end up in bed, argue, turn on each other, then to
being attentive and finally go their separate ways, with a little regret
and upset. Putting so many strong emotions into one scene, watching the
sparks from Tze Wah and Sammi, it is very entertaining and a lot of
fun." He praised Wong Tze Wah and Cheng Sau Man were both very
professional actors, from their first meeting to discuss the script to
the official shoot, they have never said to him any restriction or
anything they did not want to do. A wild shoot for them was basic,
performing a feast for the eyes for everyone was the height that Wong
Tze Wah and Cheng Sau Man were after.
