After leaving TVB last year Ali Lee Kai Sum set up his own studio to develop independently, and went to Malaysia for the drama THE EXILED with Chris Lai Lok Yi. She also opened the online platform "H3O" with Kaki Leung and Yeung Chiu Hoi. Yesterday Lai Kai Sum reportedly has signed a contract with Kenny Wee (Wong Ho), the husband of former TVB artist Suki Chui Ching Yiu (formerly known as Chui Suk Man), and would perform in 3 movies to become Wong Ho's first key project of his HK$ 800 million movie kingdom.
Wong Ho started in food industry. Years ago he invested in a media company. Last year he reportedly led the establishment of film funds in the United States, Hong Kong and Singapore, which allegedly involved an investment of more than US$100 million (nearly HK$800 million). At that time he said that he wanted to contribute to the Hong Kong film industry, and believed that someone would watch the good content that he invested in. This time he signed a contract with Lee Kai Sum and told the media that his wife Suki Chui Ching Yiu recommended her. He has already paid attention to Lee Kai Sum's performance during her TVB period, and praised her acting skills. After his wife's suggestion, he contacted Lee Kai Sum through Andrew Yue Ming Hong and arranged for her to meet with three directors of the movies he would invest in. All three really liked Lee Kai Sum, so he signed her to a 3 movie deal. Wong Ho pointed out that he has met Lee Kai Sum with director Jingle Ma Chor Sing in Malaysia in July last year, the two sides talked for a long time, and the intention to cooperate was gradually established. He invested in the Wing Shya (Ha Wing Hong) directed film that would shoot on location in South Korea and Singapore, and also confirmed that Lee Kai Sum had a role.
Lee Kai Sum went to Taichung the day before yesterday to attend the production start ceremony of her new film, one of the production companies of which was the Wong Ho invested film company. Lee Kai Sum and French Taiwanese actor Fabio Grangeon would play husband and wife in the film, which is expected to complete production before the Lunar New Year and open at the end of this year.
