The John Woo (Ng Yu Sum) directed action epic MANHUNT two days ago held a song release event in the Mainland. Lead actor Zhang Hanyu even sang SONG OF MORIOKA. The song had no lyrics. With the Ken Takakura starred Japanese version's music, Hanyu hummed along and hoped to be able to salute his idol Ken Takakura.

Although the entire song had no lyrics, Hanyu was able to inject very deep emotions. "This song is about a man's lonely run. Because it has no lyrics, the song instead is more able to emotionally move everyone and had no geographical restriction." Having watched the Japanese version of MANHUNT over 30 times, Hanyu had no difficulty at all when he hummed this familiar song. He even stated that the Japanese version of MANHUNT brought him on the road of voice acting and completely changed his life. This character was the one that he wanted to play the most, and now his dream finally came true! The event also released the Mainland version SONG OF MORIOKA music video. Ken Takakura performed this song before as well. Hanyu sang the entire SONG OF MORIOKA acappella. His magnetic voice was fully masculine and had the entire crowd under his spell.

Two nights ago on Halloween, Ava Liu (Yu Kiu) dressed like her ALWAYS BE WITH YOU (SEUNG JOI NEI JOR YAU) character for audience appreciation. Yu Kiu learned that the audience was afraid of her character and felt very pleased. As for her boyfriend Adason Lo Lik Wai, she said, "He isn't scared at all. Earlier when he watched the film he even laughed!"

Yu Kiu played a ghost for the first time. She revealed that she asked Sister Law Lan for advice. "Sister Law Lan said that she has made movies for over 30 years. Due to religion she couldn't participate in worship ceremony and would only pray. For so many years she has not run into anything strange. Even she is fine, what do a little ghost like me have to be afraid of?"

Two Best Actor Aaron Kwok Fu Sing and Wang Qianyuan starred in the suspense action film PEACE BREAKER (POR GUK), which will open in Hong Kong soon. The film was based on the Korean film A HARD DAY and directed by Taiwan director Lien Yi-Chi. The entire film was shot mainly in Malaysia and Taiwan. In the story Malaysian police officer Sing Sing was under corruption investigation. On his way to his mother's funeral he accidentally killed someone and hid the corpse in his mother's coffin. Originally he planned to bury the secret forever. However Wang Qianyuan witnessed Sing Sing's action and plotted for him to dig up the corpse, while the victim's secret forced Sing Sing and Wang Qianyuan into a corner.

Sing Sing this time had to challenge the "bad cop" character. Having mostly played heroic characters, he said, "Different from my past police characters, he can be either good or bad. Playing such a character has its difficulties. As the character faced sudden but different dark humor, tragedy, action and absurd situations, the emotional changes had to be grasped very accurately. In addition, the team had to shoot action chases in Malaysia under 45 degree (Celsius) high heat. It wasn't easy at all."

The Hong Kong Asian Film Festival 2017 opening ceremony took place at Admiralty. Two opening films were both Film Development Fund's First Feature Film Initiative winners, the Carina Lau Ka Ling produced and starred, Tam Wai Ching directed teacher student romance IN YOUR DREAMS (YI CHING CHUN DIK MING YI) and the Derek Yee Tung Sing produced, the Hong Kong Film Award and the Golden Horse Award winning director Cheung King Wai directed, Stephy Tang Lai Yun starred SOMEWHERE BEYOND THE MIST (LAN TIN BAK WON).

Two nights ago Lau Ka Ling, Ng Siu Hin and Tang Lai Yun attended the opening ceremony. Ka Ling said tha she has already seen the film. What grade would she give him? Ka Ling said, "I won't grade myself. During edition, I felt that I could shoot it all over again. Because the entire production was very rushed, every aspect could be improved upon. So I have a lot of regrets." In the film Ka Ling played a teacher and thus appeared in light make up in the entire film. She said that she had to thank William Chang Suk Ping for making getting into character easier for her with the costume designs. As a part of the opening and one of the film in competition, would she feel any pressure? She said, "Now I can withstand unlimited pressure. This time I have already gone beyond my abilities. As a film worker myself I would support it, I hope viewers would too. (Would the film participate in film festivals?) I don't know, I would leave that for the distributors." Has her husband Tony Leung Chiu Wai seen the film? Ka Ling pointed out that Wai Jai originally wanted to watch the premiere, but he was working on Philip Yung Tsz Kwong's film in Guangzhou. Later he would watch the film, but he already texted her congratulation.

Ka Ling also revealed that later she will work on the Eileen Chang novel HALF A LIFELONG ROMANCE based series in Shanghai. She planned to stay there for over three months. She has not made a television series in over a decade. This time she was very happy to be able to work with a group of Mainland actors and felt it would be a challenge. Ka Ling this time would play a tragic character. Sammi Cheng Sau Man suffered from emotional disorder from playing a tragic character in EVERLASTING REGRET (CHEUNG HUNG GOR). Was Ka Ling worried about being unable to leave the character? She said, "I can very easily adapt to the environment. On the set I would naturally get into it. When I leave the set I can immediately leave it, unlike Wai Jai and Ng Siu Hin who may have to stay in character for awhile."

Ng Siu Hing said that he still has not seen the film yet. After watching it he might feel the pressure. He also said that he planned to watch it with his family because his parents have been very supportive of him.

Tang Lai Yun said that earlier at the Busan Film Festival she has already watched SOMEWHERE BEYOND THE MIST once, but she was not very focused when she watched it last time. This time she would enjoy the film purely as a viewer and watch the audience reaction, thus she was very nervous. "Ultimately I am worried whether the Hong Kong audience would accept my performance. Because the genre and my character are considered rather new, very challenging, I don't know how the audience would feel and thus I am very nervous. I hoped that the audience would be able to see how serious I act. I hoped to be able to shake off my performance framework. (Do you want to shake off the shadow of Patrick Kong (Yip Lim Sum)?) I hope I can."

However because she has not met him yet before the scene and she has never taken the initiative, she was very nervous. She even brought mouth wash and chewing gum to maintain oral hygiene. She said, "I told the director no tongue! I remember my first kiss scene was with (Kelvin) Kwan Chor Yiu. He was quite the gentleman. We communicated before hand. My first on kiss scene went to him." She said that in real life she was very conservative and the guy would take the initiative. Before the movie she deliberated watched foreign films online to learn, but she believed that before the shoot she would have to drink for courage to get over her mental obstacle and let everything go directly.
