Ki yesterday attended a product event yesterday. Mo Shun Kwan revealed
that starting in August she would have 3 movies in productions in the
second half of the year. She would play mothers in all of them.
During the pandemic Mo Shun Kwan was busy with her own online
cooking channel. She revealed that in August she would have 3 film
productions that would start in the second half of the year. In all 3
movies she would play mother roles. She said that all 3 had different
subjects, their scripts were great as she liked them as soon as she
read them. Running into 3 good scripts at once was like a dream come
true. In addition she has not made a movie in a very long time, so she
really looked forward to it. As for playing "Mama", Sister Mo did not
mind at all. "I am several decades old, at this age of course I would
play Ma. (You are still well maintained and a beautiful demon girl?)
Those are just courteous words."
Cheung Tat Ming yesterday attended a forum as a
nasopharyngeal carcinoma education ambassador and shared his experience
with the illness in 2011. Tat Ming successfully survived cancer, but
he still had to face several after math, including damage to his hearing.
Currently his left ear only had 80% hearing and 60% hearing in his right
eye. Whenever he could not hear too clearly, he would go to the
hospital to have fluid drawn. Earlier when he wanted to watch a play,
due to his hearing problem, he needed hearing aid to experience the
normal performance.
Tat Ming also encouraged fellow patients with his experience of
fighting cancer. He urged friends who also had cancer to never give up.
After he recovered he continued to work. He even produced and acted.
With his performance in I'M LIVIN' IT (MAK LO YUN) he won the Hong Kong
Film Award Best Supporting Actor. Tat Ming also revealed that earlier
he had to gain weight for the film SEPTET (CHUT YUN LOK DUI), mainly
because he caught the eye of director Tsui Hark.
Tat Ming on the 2nd celebrated his 57th birthday. He said that
he was the happiest about watching his daughter grow. On his birthday
they also had dinner together to celebrate. He said, "She is the best
at drawing, so she gave me a drawing. My son is studying in England and
hasn't returned to Hong Kong." He also said that his friends originally
wanted to celebrate with him, but due to the pandemic social distance
restrictions they were unable to.

[ BROADWAY CIRCUIT ]
Actor Chan Kin-long makes his directorial debut with a gritty bromance drama born out of the much-lauded First Feature Film Initiative. In his finest performance to date, award-winning actor Gordon Lam Ka-Lung plays a former Hong Kong Military Service Corps officer who becomes caught in a triad manhunt when he takes in an ethnic South Asian man carrying a bag of stolen drugs. Forced to live under the same roof, the two men transcend their cultural and racial differences to form a beautiful friendship in this poignant tale of loyalty and brotherhood.
[ SCREEN DAILY ]
A retired soldier, formerly in the British colonial army, agrees to store drugs for a South Asian small-time crook. The two men bond when they realize they are both leftovers from a long-gone colonial past, but loyalties are tested when it's revealed that the drugs have been stolen from an underworld kingpin.
[ FIRST FEATURE FILM INITATIVE ]
A story of how a retired British-Chinese soldier and a marginalised young South Asian man face the plight of being abandoned by society.

Malaysian goddess Lin Minchen yesterday came to Hong Kong
to attend the film YUEN MONG NAU DAN GEI (WISH CLAW MACHINE)'s production
start and worship ceremony. She expressed that she really liked Hong
Kong. "Hong Kong has a lot of good stuff to eat, my favorites are
curry fish egg and dim sum. (Aren't you afraid of getting fat?) I am
not worried, instead I don't have enough time to sleep." She pointed out
that this time her character would gladly help others, much like her in
real life. "I am always playing the mediator. Mama and Sister often
have friction, I would be responsible to intervene. (But you are in
Hong Kong, what would happen if they argue?) We would always have video
chats, I also get to see my 3 year old niece." Claiming to be a
"quarantine master", since the pandemic she still constantly traveled
between Hong Kong, Taiwan and Malaysia. She has been in quarantine for
7 times already. She said that she rather enjoyed it, "I can enjoy the
alone time, play video games, exercise and cook."
Playing the male lead for the first time, Ling Man Lung in the
film played a "Kennedy disease" patient and before hand he had
exchanges with real patients. He joked that he had too few intimate
scenes with Lin Minchen. "I get to hold hands but seemingly no kiss
kiss! (Would you pursue her in real life?) No way, I am neither tall
nor handsome enough."
The Sandra Ng Kwan Yu, Ronald Cheng Chung Kei, Gigi Leung
Wing Kei and MIRROR member Edan Lui Cheuk On starred Lunar New Year film
HAP GA LAT (SPICY WHOLE FAMILY) officially started production on the 7th
last month. In less than a month it already announced its production
wrap. Two nights ago the team worked all night at a Mongkok cafe, from
10 PM to 5AM. After the shoot, producer and star Kwan Yu led the team
in opening bottles of champagne to celebrate. Making his film debut,
Edan toasted elders Kwan Yu, Gigi, Tam Yuk Ying and others and politely
thanked the crew on the set. Kwan Yu held onto her buddy Cheng Chung
Kei tightly, seemingly reluctant for the joyous time to end. Later she
excitedly said, "The impossible mission has gone very smoothly, everyone
is HAP GA LAT, it's very great, very moving! Everyone's performance
has been great, I am very happy. I would never imagine that it would
go so smoothly and finish so quickly. Everyone actor has met and
exceeded their goals."
As an "internet addicted youth" Edan immediately posted
"victory photos" on social media to celebrate the production wrap. He
also hinted that he would go live to interact with "Cheuk fans".

The film ZERO TO HERO (MA MA DIK SUN KEI SIU JI)'s
virtual charity run and film promotion launch ceremony took place
yesterday. The film's producer and star Sandra Ng Kwan Yu, Louis Cheung
Kai Chung, Leung Chung Hung, Fung Ho Yeung, Tony Wu Tsz Tung, Ng Siu
Hin and the film's protagonist and Paralympics Games gold medalist So Wa
Wai and his mother Han Siu Jing attended. Ng Kwan Yu in the film played
So Wa Wai's mother, who praised her performance as convincing. Leung
Chung Hung played So Wa Wai, and his acting was also said to be superb.
So Wa Wai's mother was asked whether Ng Kwan Yu's portrayal of
her was convincing? She praised Kwan Yu for studying her down to the
minor gestures in order to be convincing. "I have been younger too,
through the camera many memories were brought back......those were all
my personal experience." So Wa Wai felt that Leung Chung Hung resembled
him exactly. He realized that the actor after studying the character
put a lot of effort into the performance. He too was very moved to see
the film and hoped that everyone would make their own dreams come true.
The film due to the pandemic was postponed for a year to
coordinate with the Olympic Games for its release. As the producer Ng
Kwan Yu admitted that she was very nervous, because the film took over
half a year to prepare and a year for post production. "Because of the
pandemic the film was unable to be released. Last year the world was
very tragic, no one in their wildest dreams would even imagine this
pandemic would make a year disappear from the world, or that even the
Olympics would be postponed. However it enabled us to make the post
production even more perfect. This is all destiny!"
Kwan Yu pointed out that this time she auditioned many actors
before finding Fung Ho Yeung and Leung Chung Hung to play the young and
adult version of Paralympic Games gold medal athlete So Wa Wai. Their
performance was also very convincing. Kwan Yu said, "Fung ho Yeung
during the shoot was only 14 or 15. He had to recite the lines in a
school uniform while running, which resulted to him getting hurt.
Luckily he did not neglect his homework. Leung Chung Hung has been on
the stage, after work he still came for training runs and work outs. He
also got hurt!" Kwan Yu even said that lately she again worked with
ZERO's sound engineer. He mentioned that during the shoot he really
thought Leung Chung Hung was handicapped. Leung Chung hung admitted
that playing So Wa Wai was a challenge. The most difficult was grasping
the way he talked, imitating his physical movement and finding a balance
in between. He also had training runs to get into an athlete's shape.
However now he has already returned to his original form.
Louis Cheung Kai Chung in the film played a coach who trained
So Wa Wai and had the most scenes with Leung Chung Hung. On the first
day at work he already felt this Performing Art Academy junior
colleague's awesome skills. He stated that he felt very lucky. Aside
from sports he was also able to discover his other potentials.
