The "Hong Kong Screenwriters' Guild Spring Dinner and Awards Ceremony" was held the night before, Zhang Ziyi, Michael Hui Koon Man, Nick Cheung Ka Fai, Sammi Cheng Sau Man, Dayo Wong Tze Wah, Fala Chen, Carlos Chan Ka Lok, Shiga Lin Sze Nga, Michelle Wai Sze Nga, etc. appeared to show their support and the event was star-studded. Zhang Ziyi revealed that she wanted to make a romantic movie with "Jar Jar Fai" Cheung Ka Fai. She also promised the screenwriters that if they had a good script but lacked funds, they might as well come to her.
A total of three awards were awarded this year, with screenwriter Jeffrey Lau Chun Wai winning the 2025 Honorary Award; Kong Ho Yan and Amy Chin Siu Wai's CIAO UFO (JOI GEIN UFO) and Shu Qi's GIRL (NUI HAI) both won the Recommended Screenplay of the Year Award; Zhang Ziyi won the Best Movie Character of the Year Award for her role in SHE'S GOT NO NAME's Zhan Zhou, and she even made a special trip to Hong Kong to receive the award.
Ziyi was interviewed with a trophy in her hand, bluntly saying that she has not been to Hong Kong for a long time and she won the award as soon as she came. She felt that Hong Kong was a treasure land. She did not expect that with only half the film released she was able to win the award, and thanked the Guild for its recognition of the role. Speaking of whether the second half would be released this year, she smiled and said that she would ask the always very demanding director Peter Chan Ho Sun. Would she be confident that she will win the Hong Kong Film Awards for "Best Actress" next? Ka Fai was also nominated for "Best Original Film Song" for the theme song "Eternal Insomnia" of PEG O' MY HEART. Fala laughed and said that she has already voted for him so he must win the award "for sure", but Ka Fai said that he could not attend due to work and would not be in Hong Kong, and joked that if he won the award, Fala would sing on stage on his behalf.
Producer Teddy Chan Tak Sum revealed that the movie that would raise fund for the Hong Kong Stuntmen Association, "1941", would star Cheung Ka Fai, Louis Koo Tin Lok, Daniel Wu (Ng Yin Cho) and Charmaine Sheh Sze Man. Ka Fai said that he has agreed to perform for the time being, "I want to support Hong Kong films, support director Chin Ka Lok, support the Stuntmen Association that grew up with me. Earlier he went to perform in Singapore and his wife tagged along. "Back then Fung Tak Lun was making a movie and asked me to play the magician. I had to unlock a lock in the water then drifted back out again. I also had to take off my clothes! So I went to work out! Who knew that during training he told me the production won't happen. Then I kept training for NIGHTFALL!"
People online have been looking forward to Ka Fai making a comedy again, why not work with Fala again in a comedy? Ka Fai praised Fala for her high potential and looked forward to working together again, but for now he did not dare to be a director, for fear of having too many responsibilities and taking care of too much. Would he make a Lunar New Year movie? He joked, "Lunar New Year horror?
