The 42nd Hong Kong Film Awards came to a close two nights ago. Jennifer Yu Heung Ying with the film IN BROAD DAYLIGHT (BAK YUT JI HA) won Best Actress, but some online felt that this year's 5 nominated actresses were only average in terms of experience and substance. Without any big name, Yu Heung Ying's performance was better so the times made the hero. Yu Heung Ying said in her speech that she would spend the rest of her life to work hard on becoming a good actor. Reportedly after the award she would team with Kenny Wong Tak Bun on a new series and fulfill her own promise.

Two nights ago after winning an award, she with Best Supporting Actor and Actress John Chiang Dai Wai and Rachel Leung Yung Ting celebrated in Tsim Sha Tsui at the One Cool Film company party. She stated in her interview that show business work had no set schedule, the support of the other half was very important. Although her husband did not understand the operation of this industry too well, he still unconditionally supported her. Due to her busy work schedule and a new job on top, she would have to leave her husband alone to care for their son. Thus she took the opportunity to announce that she would not try for another child.

Yu Heung Ying revealed her award from last year's Best Actress Sammi Cheng Sau Man, who later posted that she was so nervous that her legs were shaking and admitted that the presentation symbolized the passing of the torch.

Chiang Dai Wai said that as long as it was Hong Kong film, he should be happy for anyone who won. He admitted that if the film won Best Film he of course would be even happier. Yu Heung Ying said, "I already feel very happy with our nominations and awards. Director Kan Kwan Chun in my heart is already the Best director. We won under our direction, so I am very grateful to him."

Chiang Dai Wai said that he publicly expressed his love for his wife Li Linlin because it was their 50th wedding anniversary. He wanted to share the joy with everyone, but his wife wanted to be low key. He felt that the award was the best present for their 50th anniversary. As for Bowie Lam Bo Yi not winning Best Actor, Chiang Dai Wai said, "I feel his performance as the home director was very good, I already feel like he won." Has Yu Heung Ying comforted her friend Fish Liew Chi Yu for not winning? She said that Fish has already won last year, this year was her turn.

Best Supporting Actress recipient Rachel Leung Yung Tung two nights ago was asked whether she would like the original team to work together again? She revealed that director Lawrence Kan Kwan Chun would make a new series. She would be very happy if she would have a part. "For this award, I believe the late mentor Liu Kai Chi would have been happy for me. However the award is an extra bonus, actors shouldn't only chase awards. They have to be responsible to their performance." John Chiang Dai Wai yesterday attended a series celebration and his co-stars presented him with a hand written card to congratulate him on winning the Hong Kong Film Award. Seen as "Wai Jai's strong rival" before the race, mainland actor Da Peng did not win Best Actor but received many online comments in support. He replied, "A beautiful dream has been completed, I would keep working hard!"

In addition, director Wong Jing on social media mentioned that he has never been nominated for a Hong Kong Film Awards, but for many years he was present to support the Hong Kong film industry event. As for this year's results, he also shared his opinions. "Best Film A GUILTY CONSCIENCE (DUK SIT DAI JONG), lead actress (Jennifer) Yu Heung Ying, supporting actress (Rachel) Leung Yung Ting and supporting actor (John) Chiang Dai Wai all deserved theirs. However THE GOLDFINGER (GUM SAU JI) absolutely wasn't (Tony) Leung Chiu Wai's best performance. It was a little excessive, far in contrast from the reserved performance in LUST, CAUTION and 2046. If I am him, I would follow (Alan) Tam Wing Lun and (Leslie) Cheung Kwok Wing's leads and announce that I wouldn't accept any more award and leave the opportunity for the younger generation." The comment immediately had to heated discussions.

Radio program host Michelle Lo Mik Suet disagreed with Wong Jing's comments. She sad that although Wai Jai has won Best Actor 6 times, the previous time before this one was already almost 20 years ago. He has been nominated 12 times but lost 6. In 2014 Wai Jai with THE GRANDMASTERS (YUT DOI JUNG SI) was nominated for Best Actor but in the end UNBEATABLE (GIK JIN)'s Nick Cheung Ka Fai won. Wai Jai has neither hindered anyone from winning nor kept the world from turning. Lo Mik Suet said that Wai Jai in recent years has made less Hong Kong films. On the rare occasion when he has, everyone should support this good actor even more.

Did she feel Carina Lau Ka Ling said too much? Lo Mik Suet said, "I feel it is reasonable, in the eyes of a wife her husband is always the best in the world. I have to say a fair word on Ka Ling's behalf. Last night didn't the winners (Nick) Cheuk Yik Him, (John) Chiang Dai Wai, (Sammo) Hung Kam Bo, Cheang Pou Soi credit and thank their wives on the stage? Why no one has said that they have said too much?"

Winning the Hong Kong Film Awards "Best New Performer", Yoyo Tse Wing Yan two nights ago with Taiwan star Wu Kang-Jen and director Sasha Chuk Chi Ngan and the FLY ME TO THE MOON (DAN YUEN YUN CHEUNG GAU) team to celebrate in Jordan at the Golden Scene film company party. The team presented a two tier cake and celebrated with champagne. Wu Kang-Jen said that he was very confident his on screen daughter Tse Wing Yan would win Best New Performer and was happy for her. As for not winning "Best Supporting Actor", he pointed out that he was not upset and praised elder John Chiang Dai Wai's outstanding performance. Was the victory convincing? He said, "Yes! It wasn't a defeat, he deserves to win. He is very sharp, he gave life to that character." Wu Kang-Jen said that he took the initiative to greet and congratulate Chiang Dai Wai, who even said that he hoped next time he would have a chance to work together. He also said words of encouragement to him, which made Wu Kang-Jen feel that Hong Kong elders all really took care of younger folks. "I too want to make more Hong Kong films. If I can help in any way I would definitely come. Let's Hong Kong film, with dreams there are hopes, with hopes there are opportunities."

Tse Wing Yan so far has already won several Best New Actor Award, admitted that she has been very lucky, grateful and honored, and felt that the Hong Kong Film Awards was a great encouragement for her. As for forgetting her on screen Papa Wu Kang-Jen's real name, she explained, "I really was too nervous, my entire brain froze; too many people I wanted to thank." Tse Wing Yan revealed that she would accept a new challenge in film. "For the next movie I would challenge a funnier character, which would be relatively happy. I can laugh again, I really look forward to it."

Louise Wong Dan Nei, Fish Liew Chi Yu and music group ERROR member Dee Ho Kai Wa two nights ago appeared at the fresh out of the oven "Best Film" A GUILTY CONSCIENCE (DUK SIT DAI JONG) joint celebration with THE LYRICIST WANNABE (TIN CHI L)'s team. Wong Dan Nei said that she was not disappointed that she did not win Best Actress. "I am very happy to be able to return in time for the Hong Kong Film Awards. The day before I just came back from finishing a series overseas. I was already very pleased to be able to see the film team. The nomination is already an encouragement. I would work harder, hoping for even better performance in the future." She also pointed out that she hoped to work together again with the original team. In particular she played a prisoner in this film and did not have many scenes with Wong Tze Wah. Even when they did they had a table or a barrier between them. She hoped that next time they would have close contact. How about playing a couple? She said, "It would depend on the director's arrangement." Would she save a spot on her schedule for the director? She said, "I am very loyal, I definitely would try to save a place."

Like Wong Dan Nei, Dayo Wong Tze Wah did not win Best Actor either. How did he feel? "I feel very pleasant, I would wait for the next time. I would keep work hard." He stated that the film winning the biggest prize was even more perfect than him winning.

A GUILTY CONSCIENCE has won awards and box office. Would the original team have a chance for a sequel? Tze Wah revealed that Director Jack Ng Wai Lun was invaluable in his unwilling to make a sequel, but he has been planning to make a new subject film with the original team. "This year I watched 10 foreign film trailers, 10 were sequels. Ng Wai Lun reached the Hong Kong film box office championship but actually won't make a sequel. He has high character, and has already begun writing new scripts; but he also made myself out of work for several years. I know he doesn't make much; he still has to make money to live. I really admire his resilience, so I want to win an award even more."

Tze Wah joked that even though the movies he starred in were box office champions, he have only made 4 movies in 6 years. The days were very harsh, and he treated himself like a film industry new comer. However his salary was not a new comer price. He said, "My salary is half new but not old, I am very grateful. As long as I have movies to make I am fine." Speaking of him not working on TABLE FOR SIX 2 with the original team, Tze Wa said, "Didn't clash right. Hey, I promised that I wouldn't talk about this in 10 years; saying 'didn't clash right' was already saying too much."

Tze Wah revealed that his film with Michael Hui Koon Man, THE LAST DANCE (POR DEI YUK) has already completed production. He looked forward to the new film release within this year to satisfy the fans. He mentioned again that he was very happy to work with Hui Koon Man. "The last time we worked together was 30 years ago in THE MAGIC TOUCH (SUN SUEN). When he planned to make the film, he called me like the Lord and asked me to help with the screenplay. At the time I wrote the script with him all the way to South Africa. This time working together again we are both starring, which felt like in our previous lives we had some Jia Baoyu relationship. Fate is very fantastic, I hope the next time we wouldn't have to wait another 30 years to work together again." Would he have hope to be nominated for Best Actor again with THE LAST DANCE? He said, "I don't dare to say, but this movie absolutely is very strong."

Dee heard Wong Tze Wah admitting to being a new comer and not making as many movies as he did, he admitted that he was just a film industry sprout. He said, "I am not even a person, I am just growing. I still haven't left the plant life." Tze Wah also jokingly asked him if he has heard of pulling the sprout to help growth. Dee said, "This idiom is negative, but if he wants to pull then I would let him. Actually Tze Wah God really takes care of us new comers, and he doesn't have to. So sprouts would have to live up to their potential."

He also looked forward to working with the original team. What subject would he like the film to be? He said, "This team can make many subjects. With a wide age range, we can make up for each other's shortcomings." As for a raise, he said, "That's good, let's see if the company would be willing. However making movies isn't about making money. Everyone is working until their kidnaps explode and liver rot, with less than a dream no one should work in the film industry. If they want to make a living they should work other jobs. In this business they have to affect themselves first to be able to affect others."
