The film ZERO TO HERO (MA MA DIK SUN KEI SIU JI)'s virtual charity run and film promotion launch ceremony took place yesterday. The film's producer and star Sandra Ng Kwan Yu, Louis Cheung Kai Chung, Leung Chung Hung, Fung Ho Yeung, Tony Wu Tsz Tung, Ng Siu Hin and the film's protagonist and Paralympics Games gold medalist So Wa Wai and his mother Han Siu Jing attended. Ng Kwan Yu in the film played So Wa Wai's mother, who praised her performance as convincing. Leung Chung Hung played So Wa Wai, and his acting was also said to be superb.

Kwan Yu pointed out that this time she auditioned many actors before finding Fung Ho Yeung and Leung Chung Hung to play the young and adult version of Paralympic Games gold medal athlete So Wa Wai. Their performance was also very convincing. Kwan Yu said, "Fung ho Yeung during the shoot was only 14 or 15. He had to recite the lines in a school uniform while running, which resulted to him getting hurt. Luckily he did not neglect his homework. Leung Chung Hung has been on the stage, after work he still came for training runs and work outs. He also got hurt!" Kwan Yu even said that lately she again worked with ZERO's sound engineer. He mentioned that during the shoot he really thought Leung Chung Hung was handicapped. Leung Chung hung admitted that playing So Wa Wai was a challenge. The most difficult was grasping the way he talked, imitating his physical movement and finding a balance in between. He also had training runs to get into an athlete's shape. However now he has already returned to his original form.

Louis Cheung Kai Chung in the film played a coach who trained So Wa Wai and had the most scenes with Leung Chung Hung. On the first day at work he already felt this Performing Art Academy junior colleague's awesome skills. He stated that he felt very lucky. Aside from sports he was also able to discover his other potentials.

The 60 year old "Stephen Chow Sing Chi favorite" Lee Kin Yan two years ago suffered a stroke in Shenzhen, from which he became paralyzed and lost the ability to speak. At the time his life was hanging by a thread as he required brain surgery. Then he had pneumonia and needed to return to Hong Kong for treatment.

Appearing for the first time after the stroke, he was obviously thinner but in decent spirits. Three months ago through the introduction of good friend Tin Kai Man he actively accepted physical therapy and the progress has been good. Under the guidance of his physical therapist he performed muscle strengthening exercises. He also used a cane to walk forward step by step. The therapist also gave a thumbs up as encouragement.

Lee Kin Yan's wife Ida revealed that he lost over 80 pounds in recent years. At first when he had the stroke the condition was less than ideal. He was unable to relieve himself on his own. [2021.07.03] SHOCK WAVE 2 IS THE TOP GROSSING HONG KONG FILM OF 2021 SO FAR

The Hong Kong Motion Picture Industry Association and the Hong Kong Theatres Association's Hong Kong Box Office Co. Ltd. yesterday announced the Hong Kong film box office overall condition in the first half of 2021. From New Year's Day to June 30th this year 130 first run films were released in Hong Kong, 24 were Hong Kong films and the remaining 106 were not. Due to the continuing influence of the pandemic, cinemas were ordered to close until February 18th before resuming operation with the social distance seating restriction, cinemas lost the Lunar New Year golden slot. In the first half of this year the total box office was only HK$ 307,598,000, a rise of 28.3% from the same period of last year when operations halted for 41 days. However in comparison to the same period in 2019, the box office dropped by 2/3 or around 64%.

The Hong Kong film king of the first half of this year was the Andy Lau Tak Wa starred SHOCK WAVE 2 (CHAK DAN JUEN GA 2) with over HK$ 19.38 million to become the box office champion. The still in release ONE SECOND CHAMPION (YUT Miu KUEN WONG) made over HK$ 16.77 and reached second place in the top ten grossing Hong Kong films. In third was with over HK$ 8.74 million was THE WAY WE KEEP DANCING (KONG MO PAI 3). As for foreign films, GODZILLA VS. KONG made over HK$ 35.17 million to become the foreign film king. In second place was the still in release FAST 9 with over HK$ 33.99 million. In third was the also still in release SOUL with over HK$ 30.76 million.

[2021.07.02] YU MO LIN CELEBRATES HER BIRTHDAY IN ADVANCE

Yu Mo Lin at the end of last year was hospitalized for pulmonary fibrosis and was diagnosed with plasma infection. Her condition was once less than optimistic but later improved. After half a year at the hospital, in April this year she was released and returned home to recover. Yu Mo would turn 84 on the 4th this month. Friends made arrangements to celebrate with her. Famous Hong Kong fashion designer William Tang Tat Chi recently took Yu Mo to have Cantonese cuisine and presented a birthday cake, which made her very happy.

 As ViuTV's new series OSSAN'S LOVE became the talk of the town, Edan Lui Cheuk On's comedic genes have been recognized s well. Catching Sandra Ng Kwan Yu's eyes to be invited to work on the Lunar New Year film HAP GA LAT (SPICY WHOLE FAMILY), Edan due to many emotional scenes in the film was very worried about his big screen debut. Earlier when working on a scene in which Kwan Yu comforted him, Edan was so nervous that he had zero smile throughout. He was rather serious!

The Ng Kwan Yu produced and starred, new director Cheng Chun Hin directed and written, Matthew Chow Hoi Kwong executive produced Lunar New Year film HAP GA LAT (SPICY WHOLE FAMILY)'s production has already entered its final stages. Earlier Ng Kwan Yu and lead actor Edan worked together at a mini bus stop outside a housing estate. Edan with a slight perm, green athletic wear and yellow shoes looked cute. Before the shoot, Edan did not dare to lax off for his big screen debut as he rehearsed with Kwan Yu on a chair outside the mini bus. During rehearsal, Kwan Yu suddenly burst out, "Hurry up! I have to watch OSSAN'S LOVE."

Louis Koo Tin Lok recently worked with Aaron Kwok Fu Sing and Sean Lau Ching Wan on a new film that was shooting on location in Xishuangbonna, Yunnan. Lately a video of Goo Jai at the local airport security checkpoint surfaced. When Goo Jai entered the airport he was recognized. When he entered the security check point, the airport security employees were drawn to Goo Jai's charm and could not hold their excitement or smiles. The female employee who searched Goo Jai was giddy with happiness.

After the security inspection, many chased Goo Jai for a photo. With the protection of the crew no one was able to get close. Many online were envious of that security employee and lamented that "these opportunities don't belong to me."

[2021.07.01] THE WHITE STORM 3 SHOT ON LOCATION IN YUNNAN

The film series THE WHITE STORM (SO DUK) has already reached its third installment. This time the cast would remain strong. Aside from the regulars Louis Koo Tin Lok and Sean Lau Ching Wan, Aaron Kwok Fu Sing joined the fray. Three Best Actors would test their acting skills in the film, with Sing Sing and Goo Jai opposing villain Ching Wan. The team in June has already begun production in Xishuangbanna, Yunnan. Some caught the leads at the shoot locally and shared the photos online. Sing Sing's "worn out old undercover uniform" was spoiled and so was his identity.

The film THE WHITE STORM 3 would be Herman Yau Lai To directed again. Earlier it began production in Xishuangbanna. Lately many production videos have been found online as the three leads' costumes were unveiled. Sing Sing had the most costume appearance, in a white tank top, and on a motorcycle with sunglasses looking rather cool. In the video he was revealed to have "worn out his old undercover uniform". His character has been spoiled. Sing Sing knew that his costume has already been unveiled, and flat out shared his all new look from the film on his social media. He was unshaven, his hair was messy and his face dirty as he looked a little down. However he still was masculine. Sing Sing posted, "I am looking for another film character. Hard work? Worth it. Never forget your original intention. Work hard to do your best. The film is THE WHITE STORM 3, let's go!"

Another hunk Koo Tin Lok was dressed in black and continued to play Cool Man. He had a big group of people around him at all times. Always a good actor, Lau Ching Wan seemingly wore a bulletproof vest in the back seat with a dark smile. In addition, many black sedans were in a crazy car chase in the city.
