The Vivian Sung, Keung To, Jessica Lee Ka Man starred
new film MY HEAVENLY CITY two nights ago held its Hong Kong premiere
and drew several hundred Keung To fans to show their support. After
the ceremony, the female guests madly dashed to Keung To for photos
and completely neglected Taiwan's Vivian Sung. They crowded her so
much that she had to rush off stage.
Vivian Sung said that the situation was not awkward, and that
during the Taiwan premiere she also experience the care Keung To's fans
took for the staff. Vivian Sung revealed that this time she would
stay in Hong Kong for a few days and spent most of the time on
audience appreciation events. She believed that she would have one
free day to shop and eat. She said, "Although earlier I have come to
Hong Kong earlier to promote movies, this was the first time that I
would have to go to so many cinemas, over 30 shows. I have already
prepared flats to handle them." Speaking of the film's Taiwan box
office failure, did Vivian Sung have any confidence in its Hong Kong
box office? Vivian Sung said, "I know the movie's word of mouth is
decent. Many viewers really like it after watching, so I have
confidence in its Hong Kong box office. I hope people after the film
would have a warm feeling."
Working on a new film later, Vivian Sung looked forward to
having a new film for the Hong Kong audience to enjoy. Would she work
on a Hong Kong film? She said, "I want to, because I want to make an
action film. I am not worried that I wouldn't be agile enough to
handle it. I can practice. Earlier I took the opportunity to learn
Cantonese from my co-stars." Keung To said that he was not certain
about the film's box office performance, he only hoped that the
audience would have fun watching the film and be inspired by it. Has the
box office failure affected Keung To's Taiwan ambitions? He said,
"I haven't thought about invading Taiwan, if I did well I would have
good results. If not then I haven't done well enough. I treat it
normally." Was the small budget film affected the box office? Keung
To felt that the market would need different movies, without any
differentiation between for the masses or minorities. He only wanted
the audience to relate to it. As for attending over 30 audience
appreciation shows, Keung To said that it would be the first time he
participated in such events. Last time with MAMA'S AFFAIR (AH MA YAU
JOR DAI YI GOR) due to his leg injury he was unable to take part. He
hoped everything would go smoothly this time and said that he might
disguise himself to go to the movies and see the reaction.
However, one of the premiere's sponsors yesterday issued a
statement to announce that it would never have any opportunity to
work with Medialink Entertainment Limited. "The representative at the
premiere has already left the premiere to express the displeasure,
but the sponsored MY HEAVENLY CITY premiere ceremony was already
completed. Thank you members for your support."
