The Soi Cheang Pou Soi and Tse Kwok Ho produced, Jonathan Li Tsz Chun directed, Gordon Lam Ka Tung and Da Peng starred crime film DUST TO DUST (DAI BAK GOR YIM YI YUN) would open on October 26th in Hong Kong. DUST TO DUST was based on the largest armed robbery in the mainland history, the original case span 21 years. Director Li Tsz Chun revealed that before the shoot he followed the fugitive's route. He also praised the two Best Actors in the film.
In the production special, many cast members praised Ka Tung for his professional performance. Screenwriter Chow Man Yu in particularly remembered Ka Tung injuring his leg during the shoot but still toughed out an 18 hour shoot. Director Li Tsz Chun stressed that he was grateful for his support over the years. "From my directing debut THE BRINK (KONG SAU) Ka Tung has been very supportive of me, to my second movie DUST TO DUST, when starting with just a story synopsis he has already been very supportive of me making this movie. During the production he also gave me a lot of advice. With his suggestions, we wouldn't be able to create such a lively character who would spare nothing to investigate his case." Playing the fugitive, Da Peng with his excellent acting won the Jin Jue Award Best Actor. The director praised Da Peng for putting his life on the line for the performance. "Da Peng spent a month to lose weight to coordinate with the character's mine laborer job. Then several times when we went to the mountain to shoot his killing scenes, he fainted twice, almost fell off the mountain. I really admire this type of impulse and life risking."
