The "2024 Ultimate Music Awards Ceremony" was held at the AsiaWorld-Expo last night, and the guy group MIRROR won a total of 7 group and individual awards to become the big winners. Keung To won the "My Favorite Song" for 5 consecutive years with YOU'RE OUT OF THIS WORLD, and won the "My Favorite Male Singer" again after two years. Teammate Ian Chan Cheuk Yin won the Gold Award for Male Singer, the Gold Award for Creative Singer and the Ultimate Record Award for the first time. Anson Lo Hon Ting was ranked 8th in the Top 10 with HEY HEY OK! The biggest surprises of the night were that music divas Sammi Cheng Sau Man and Joey Yung Cho Yee appeared to receive the award in person. Cheng Sau Man stepped on the stage to receive "My Favorite Female Singer" after 24 years, choking up with excitement; Joey Yung Cho Yee won the third place in the "Top 10" with 9.9S.

As for one of the finale awards, "My Favorite Male Singer" went to Keung To. He was stunned for a moment when he heard it, and he had a look of disbelief. Almost every corner of the venue was lit up with "Keung" signs. When he accepted the award, he said, "I never would've guessed, and people are going to be yelled at me again!" For the first time, this year the Male Singer and Creative Singer winners were the same people. In both categories Ian won the Gold Award for the first time, beating Fung Wan Him and Lam Ka Him. He also won the Ultimate Record Award for INTERLUDE, to the delight of the Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism, Rosanna Law Suk Pui and Hins Cheung King Hin. Ian said that his heart was beating fast, his mind was blank and his hands trembled, and he thanked Cheung King Hin in particular. He revealed the agreement between himself and his elder. "In 2022 Cheung King Hin won the Gold Award for Male Singer. He called me and said that he had something for me. He ended up bringing out his trophy, told me to put it at home, and only return it to him when I got my own trophy. I will returning it to you tonight!" He was stunned when he won the "Ultimate Record Award", saying that he had a beautiful dream in 2024. It turned out that all adventures are not all fictional, and he encouraged everyone to believe in themselves. MIRROR won the "My Favorite Group" but failed to make it to the Group category top three, with Dear Jane winning the Gold Award for "Group", and Silver and Bronze Awards being awarded to COLLAR and The Absent Brother respectively.

Lam Ka Him won the Bronze Award for both "Male Singer" and "Creative Singer", and he also won the "Composer Award". He announced the good news on the stage that he would perform concerts at the Hong Kong Coliseum in August and the crowd roared. In addition to winning the Silver Awards for "Male Singer" and "Creative Singer", Jay Fung Wan Him made a "big turnaround" from the Metro Hit Award goose egg and also won the "Ultimate Song Award" for SEE YOU SOON, IT"S NOT A GOODBYE. Group JFYT member Chan Yuk Lun (Bed Gor) earlier took advantage of the scandal between MIRROR member Edan Lui Cheuk On and Lin Minchen while campaigning for votes. Keung To defended his teammate and reprimanded Bed Gor for causing a storm. Keung To and Bed Gor were both present last night, but the order of appearance and seating were different. JFYT did not interact when passing by MIRROR's seats.

This year's award ceremony theme was "I'm singing madly and dancing wildly", expressing that in the musician's head the notes and rhythms are constantly dancing. No matter when and where they can create, inject emotions and thoughts into the work, stimulate the surging enthusiasm for music, and lead music fans to invest in it together.

A total of 49 awards were presented at the ceremony, all of which were based on the airplay rate of songs on the "Ultimate Music Charts - 903 Professional Recommendations", and music fans can vote for the "My Favorite Singer, Group and Song Awards" with one vote per person to support their favorite performers and songs. The top 5 finalists of "My Favorite Song" were Lo Hon Ting's HEY HEY OK!, Chan Cheuk Yin's SOLITUDE, Keung To's YOU'RE OUT OF THIS WORLD, Kaho Hung's TINTED WINDOWS and Terence Lam Ka Him's THE LAST DANCE theme song.

At the beginning of the awards ceremony, the singers were introduced. Different from the recent "Metro Hit Awards Ceremony", this time all the major record companies have sent singers.
