This Lunar New Year, Louis Koo Tin Lok, Gigi Leung Wing Kei, Chrissie Chau Sau Na, and Louise Wong Dan Nei have been busy promoting the release of their Lunar New Year's film HIT N FUN (LUM SI KUET DAU) . They began to go to the theater to thank the audience on the Lunar 29th before the New Year, and learned that the film received HK$ 3 million in two days to become the box office champion. The three leads were very happy, and said with a smile that their New Year's wish was for HIT N FUN to be a big success. Now that it has become the box office champion their wish has come true. Everyone was overjoyed, because everyone was really working hard to shoot this Lunar New Year's film. Every actor was injured all over from fighting. With the good start at the opening they also hoped that the box office could keep on climbing the whole way!
The leads wished everyone a Happy New Year and shared their production experience. Best Actor Louis Koo Tin Lok in recent years has put in a lot of effort into the film industry. He admitted that although he would be able to control the climate, he believed that as long as he did his part there would definitely be a light at the end of the tunnel. In the New Year he hoped to have even more challenges and even joked that he wanted to find a match for a girlfriend in the Year of the Snake!
Goo Jap praised Chau Sau Na and Wong Dan Nei for holding nothing back during their performance, rather tough and have yet to complain. In particular Chau Sau Na on the first day of work was injured and needed stitches. For a fight scene, in the end he was in so much pain that he could not raise his arms. Speaking of Chau Sau Na and Wong Dan Nei had to fight hard in the ring, Chau Sau Na revealed that the team set up training classes for everyone before hand. Dan Nei stated hat she learned a new skill. "From the start I was afraid, I had to overcome my own mental block to hit someone for real. I would rather hit a little harder to achieve the effect, instead of repeating the fight after a bad take."
Speaking of the role of "the master's wife" in HIT, Gigi ran into many difficulties in her comeback to the film industry. The audience deeply sensed the sorrow of being an actor. Dan Nei admitted that being in show business was very passive, while Chau Sau Na felt that felt every age level would have different situations. "Thinking too much about the unknown would instead disturb yourself. You might as well think about how much you can do when you are working on a movie." The boss Louis Koo Tin Lok also could not help but lament, "Honestly, a lot of things are beyond our control, but I would try to do my best in everything. I am ready to adapt to any circumstance with good will."
Born in the Year of the Dog, Goo Jai would have peach blossoms luck in the Year of the Snake. He joked, "Peach blossoms luck makes you popular with people, it's a good thing! (Would it be beneficial to finding a female companion?) Let's see if I need to find someone for a match, haha!" The Ox Chau Sau Na was said to be in danger of getting hurt. She joked that she was already injured while working on HIT, which she treated as the fortune has already come true. How would she handle the situation in the film of a cheating boyfriend in real life? Chau Sau Na joked, "Give the guy a beating! Give him up!" Dan Nei wished that in the New Year she would continue to challenge to herself. She admitted that life was short, to be able to experience different life as an actor she was already very blessed.
Gigi laughed and said that she did not care if the Lunar New Year was celebrated or not, because she married her Spaniard husband Sergio Crespo Gutes. Her husband has not had any Lunar New Year request and completely obeyed her. Wong Dan Nei asked if her husband would follow the local customs? Gigi smiled and said, "He would, the funniest thing was that in the first year of marriage we had to give lai see. I spread up a big pile of lai see at home, and my husband thought it was so novel. Seeing all the golden bulls (thousand dollar bills), he said that we had to give so much money in the New Year. I said yes, for joy and fortune. Then my husband answered me that luckily it was only for the first year. I explained that we would have to give every year, giving people money was a type of blessing and he felt it was very interesting." Was he happy or unhappy in the first year of giving lai see? Gigi said, "He thought it was novel."
Gigi said that saying "Gung Hei Fat Choi" was a piece of cake during the Lunar New Year. She pointed out that her husband and daughter Sofia have learned to say some blessings, such as happy new year and good health. When they said them, the results would be drastically different. Relatives and friends were already particularly happy to hear a foreigner say a blessing. As for the traditional customs of the New Year, Gigi said that she would pour tea for the elders according to the tradition, and her husband and daughter would follow her exactly. Her daughter would be responsible for saying blessings, because in the eyes of relatives and friends, the foreign girl who learned to say blessings was very cute. "Sofia liked Chinese dresses when she was a child, and she thought it was very beautiful to wear braids. Now she wouldn't anymore, because she is almost 10 years old." Gigi also smiled and said that one year when she returned to her husband's home in Spain for the New Year. She specifically brought some fai chun to decorate, and the in laws thought they were very novel when they saw them.
For the New Year, Chau Sau Na said that she would leave the New Year shopping and decoration her family. She would only pray for romance. "Of course, romance has to be done by yourself! Like buying red underwear and walking for the peach blossom luck, I buy peach blossoms every year and put them in the middle of the living room. When I see peach blossom trees, I would take a few laps around them; but I never knew that the peach blossom luck has to follow the direction, so maybe I walked in the wrong direction before!" Would she want to have peach blossoms luck in the new year? Chau Sau Na said, "Peach blossoms also represent popularity with people and the audience, so it is good to have them!" Would she want to settle down quickly? Gigi laughed and said, "You hurry up and get married!" Chau Sau Na also said, "Actually I wouldn't deliberately hide it if I was dating, but maybe the other person wouldn't want to make it public. Now I don't know what would happen. In short I won't deliberately hide it if I am dating, let it be!" In recent years has she been career-minded and have no date? Chau Sau Na smiled and said, "I have always been career-minded. You can tell from me not getting treated after getting hurt on the set, you can tell how career minded I am!"
Wong Dan Nei said that if she would not have to work, she would take her daughter to her husband Sheldon Lo (Law Yau Yung)'s home in Australia to spend the New Year. The Australian weather would be the opposite of Hong Kong, so they could have a hot New Year. "New Year in Perth is very atmospheric. Many Asians are there, and so are many traditional customs. The New Year would have dragon and lion dances, everyone would race to stuff money into the mouth of the lion like crazy, and would set off firecrackers, hang Fai Chun with a lot of New Year's atmosphere; relatives would also get together to play mahjong and fry different holiday food. Everyone would enjoy this big holiday of the New Year."
Gigi said that she usually would not have much to do on New Year, but a few friends joked that they would like to play mahjong with her in the New Year in their lifetime. "They said that after watching me in the 2002 film FAT CHOI SPIRIT (LEK GU LEK GU SUN NIN CHOI) they really haven't played mahjong with me!" Wong Dan Nei joked that everyone wanted to see her mahjong manners, Gigi replied with a smile: "Actually I only know how to play a little, and my math isn't great; but I find it difficult to find players now, because everyone has a family and is busy with their own. So we may only play once in the New Year." Chau Sau Na smiled and asked Gigi to this year, because she anted to see her skills. Gigi agreed, "Then I'll ask you to play!" The three of them were missing one player, so after getting another actor from the film Shrimp Head (Harriet Yeung Sze Man) they would enough to open the table!
