Wang Baoqiang and Liu Haoran starred in the mainland movie series DETECTIVE CHINATOWN, which has been popular and set a box office record of 8.7 billion yuan RMB. The prequel DETECTIVE CHINATOWN 1900 was released this Lunar New Year, taking the audience back to San Francisco, USA in 1900. Chow Yun Fat (Fat Gor) joined the cast to play the role of Chinatown Tong master, full of dominating presence. The day before yesterday, the Lunar New Year film opened on the Lunar New Year Day in the mainland. Its box office exceeded 800 million yuan (about HK$ 860 million) as of yesterday. The day before yesterday, Fat Gor and directors Chen Sicheng, Dai Mo, Wang Baoqiang and Liu Haoran went to a total of 3 cinemas in Guangzhou, Haizhu and Panyu to promote and greet the audience. Some even appeared in the style of THE BUND's Hui Man Keung, saying that he has loved Fat Gor for 40 years. Fat Gor said with a smile, "You look so young." He personally taught everyone how to walk like the big boss, which caused the audience to laugh. Everyone also sang the song THE BUND on the spot, and the atmosphere was quite high. The audience praised Fat Gor as the Chinatown boss had such presence as soon as he appeared, and felt that the role was tailor-made by the director for Fat Gor, and the positioning was a bit like the combination of the Fat Gor's roles in PEACE HOTEL and SHANGHAI and had the feeling of "Godfather" in Chinatown.

In addition, a 10-year-old genius mainland photographer, Sheng Sheng, posted a short video on social platforms -- a series of photos taken for Fat Gor earlier. Fat Gor also took a selfie with Sheng Sheng and her sister. DETECTIVE CHINATOWN 1900 was released in Hong Kong on February 13th, and the director and actors have planned to go to Hong Kong to promote and meet the audience.
