This summer had many new film releases, viewers have been very supportive as many films were big hits. The Edan Lui Cheuk On, Sandra Ng Kwan Yu and Ronald Cheng Chung Kei starred CHILLI LAUGH STORY (HOP GA LAT) opened on July 14th. The Sean Lau Ching Wan starred DETECTIVE VS. SLEUTHS (SUN TAM DAI JIN) opened on July 21st. CHILLI LAUGH STORY had momentum and was the single day box office champion on Sunday (the 24th) with over HK$ 1.7 million and beat the second place DETECTIVE VS. SLEUTHS and its HK$ 1.59 million. CHILLI LAUGH STORY after 12 days in release made over HK$ 20 million. DETECTIVE VS. SLEUTHS after 4 days made over HK$ 5.2 million. The Marvel movie THOR: LOVE AND THUNDER after 19 days made over HK$ 43 million. TOP GUN: MAVERICK after 60 days made over HK$ 99 million.
