The film MAD FATE (MING ONG) two nights ago held its premiere. Director Soi Cheang Pou Soi, actors Gordon Lam Ka Tung, Lokman Yeung, Ng Wing Sze, Bonnie Wong Man Wai, Berg Ng Ting Yip and others attended. Over 200 fans were on hand to show their support. When all of MIRROR came to support their captain Lokman, fans even broke into instant screams. Other guests included Josie Ho Chiu Yi, Mimi Kung Chi Yan and Stephanie Che Yuen Yuen.

Lam Ka Tung on the stage talked about his production experience. He joked that when he got director Cheang Pou Soi's call his heart skipped a beat. As soon as he heard his name he knew it was "big trouble". This was the trauma LIMBO (JI CHI) left.

When the shoot officially began, the first scene was at the cemetery. He got the script at 11 PM and the next morning was the shoot. The dialogues were all in Hakka and Feng Shui terms. After that every scene was "flying paper". The director truly drove him into madness. Ka Tung said that the final scene on the roof also shot several versions. "I lost my voice from all the shoots. The next day I even had to shoot several more different versions. This film has given a great revelation. Although the will of Heaven couldn't be disobeyed, it still had restrictions. You still have to be a kind person. I am saying this to you, Cheang Pou Soi." Ka Tung stated that working on a Cheang Pou Soi movie was very tough. This time just one shot of the rooftop scene took over 50 takes; The director asked for one 5 minute long straight take. However he also would not turn down his movies either, because Cheang Pou Soi made him overcome big challenges. "My life is still tough! He constantly would tell me to try. Actually he already had a bottom line in his heart, but he would force you into madness. You wouldn't get the script until you are on the set, and it would already be several pages long, and the Hakka required a country accent and a lot of terminology. The time to prepare was very few."

Ka Tung dressed up last night and appeared to be very fit. He said that he got into shape first on his recent break, if he would play fat in the next movie he could very quickly gain weight. As long as he had ice cream everyday, he would become fat in 3 days. Ka Tung earlier worked on additional shoots for the film I DID IT MY WAY (CHIM HUNG). He pointed out that producer Andy Lau Tak Wa after watching the film felt it needed more scenes. then they shot several more action scenes at Central. Ka Tung said that he has not planned to take a long vacation. "My acting bug still hasn't had its fill, I have a movie in negotiation. It's only a problem with the price." Did he no longer want to accept movies with a "shoulder tap"? He chuckled. "My shoulder is so crooked, I would have septal defect soon. However I hope for the market to be good!" Indeed the market would have to good in order to actor salaries to be good.

Lokman last night invited many friends to the premiere. MIRROR intended on booking a show and giving away tickets for him, he did not know whether it would happen. He himself had no plan to book a show. Perhaps a big group of friends would go to the movies and see the audience response. Speaking of the film's decent reviews, would he hope for a Hong Kong Film Award nomination next year? Lokman said, "If I would be nominated of course I would be happy, but I don't dare to say whether I have confidence or not." Earlier Keung To became his group mate's "genie". He pointed out that if he truly would be nominated, he would ask Keung To to vote for his competition. If the others were jinxed, his chances would be even better. In addition Director Cheang Pou Soi said that during the audition he saw the tolerance in his character, maybe because he was MIRROR's captain. He said, "As a captain he had to be able to hold his tongue, steadied the entire person, observed more happenings and be a little more sensitive. I would be able to absorb what the Director said a little better."
