The Cecilia Cheung Pak Chi and Richie Jen (Yam Yin Chai) starred FLY ME TO POLARIS (SING YUEN) was a big hit, many would still remake part of the films as a tribute to the original. Earlier the film reportedly would make a sequel with Jingle Ma Chor Sing as the director, Bao Beier and Gulnezer as the leads and Pak Chi would guest star. However, Ma Chor Sing responded that he had no plan to make the film and expose the fraud!

FLY ME TO POLARIS opened in 1999. At the time Cheung Pak Chi even won the Hong Kong Film Award Best New Performer with the film. Her film song also became a must at karaoke boxes; the film rights were sold to Toho in Japan and made into the Yuko Takeuchi starred NIGHT OF THE SHOOTING STAR.

Aside from the film being remade, in recent years many would imitate the film's romantic scenes. Pak Chi and Richie Jen (Yam Yin Chai) both joined in. In recent years they have been rather active on mainland social media and often would interact as the film's characters. The mainland variety show invited them to perform FLY ME TO POLARIS on the stage. Pak Chi showed off her Best Actress level acting and made Yao Chen and Tang Yan to tears.

Earlier someone claimed online that the film would make a sequel titled ELEVEN DAYS AND ONE NIGHT (SUP YUT TIN LING YUT YEH), with Bao Beier and Gulnezer as its leads and Pak Chi and Siu Chai as guest stars. FLY ME TO POLARIS' director Ma Chor Sing would direct and the post had a poster and a synopsis. Many online were looking forward to it. However, when asked to confirmed, Ma Chor Sing replied, "I am not making this film."

In recent years the mainland has had many "big film" financing fraud. Criminals used popular films and falsely claimed that they were raising fund for the sequel. Some would even create the "new film", like Chow Yun Fat, Louis Koo Tin Lok, Francis Ng Chun Yu and Julian Cheung Chi Lam once was said to be making the film MAI JUI that was raising funding online. However actually the criminals were only using artists' names to swindle money.

Ma Chor Sing in recent years have been working in the mainland, currently he is preparing for a new film. Earlier Tony Leung Chiu Wai and Eddie Peng Yu-Yan took a photo in Japan. Because Leung Chiu Wai's TOKYO RAIDERS (DONG GAING GUNG LEUK) was one of his classics too, thus when someone commented that they would like the two of them to make a RAIDERS series film, Ma Chor Sing said, "Me too."

Aside from the director, Pak Chi also has been working smoothly in the mainland in recent years. After a little break in Hong Kong, she again returned to work and modeled for a certain label in the mainland. Lately she has been busy with social media advertisement. She revealed that due to her son she has fallen for building blocks. She even bought a rose building block set to build for herself.
