The Emperor Motion Picture DETECTIVE VS. SLEUTHS (SUN TAM DAI JIN) swept up several major film awards this years. Last week at the 41st Hong Kong Film Awards it even won Best Actor, Best Director, Best Screenplay and Best Cinematography. The film company two nights ago held a celebration. Emperor Group chair Albert Yeung Sau Sing, DETECTIVE VS. SLEUTHS' director Wai Ka Fai, Sean Lau Ching Wan, Raymond Lam Fung, Carlos Chan Ka Lok, Kathy Yuen (Tong Yee) and others attended. They even announced the good news of DETECTIVE VS. SLEUTHS 2!

At the celebration, Yeung Sau Sing said that the film deserved the applause that everyone has given it, because the performance did not come easily. He revealed that the film from handing over the script to the Mainland film authority for approval, 3 years has passed. During the period he even personally led a team of 5 people to meet with the authority chief to explain the script content and agreed to edit until the authority has been pleased. He praised director Wai Ka Fai for giving his effort into everything so the film would be smoothly released; then he, the director and the actors added the number 2 to the film title to announce the confirmation of the sequel. Cheers arose immediately. When asked whether the original team would return, Wai Ka Fai revealed, "The story would continue from the first film's development, we would try to return with as much of the original team as possible. I am very fortunate to have this group of good actors for help!"

Wai Ka Fai during the interview said that the sequel script has already been sent for inspection, upon approval production would begin. He admitted that while working on DETECTIVE he already had the idea for the sequel, because a lot of the story and characters still had a lot of space to be developed and the audience would be interested in them. Thus the sequel would be a continuation and not an all new story; he even said that he had ways to bring back Lam Fung for the sequel. Was he confident that it would exceed the performance of the first film? He said that the greatest difficult would be that he did not want to make an "obedient" movie. He wanted to make even more daring attempts, but he would need to slowly explore.

Ching Wan in DETECTIVE had to jump into a gutter. Would he be worried that the sequel would be even tougher? He said that he had no idea, because the script has not yet reached his hands. However he joked that he and Wai Ka Fai in 10 years only worked together on one movie, he never thought that they would work together again so soon. When Lam Fung mentioned, "I just found out about the sequel, I am getting a headache from whether I would have to be mad all over again." Ching Wan even said, "You can relax, it definitely wouldn't be just as; it definitely would be even tougher." Wai Ka Fai laughed and said, "I wouldn't benefit them!"

Currently busy with a new film, Ching Wan still has not have the time to celebrate his Hong Kong Film Award Best Actor. Has his wife Amy Kwok Oi Ming kiss him as a celebration and a reward? He humorously said, "No, so you can imagine how I have been spending my days."

Speaking of Lam Fung "being appeared" in the currently airing series SPEAKERS OF LAW, in which Rosina Lam Ha Mei had such a crush that she dreamt of him; he said that it felt a little strange since she is his cousin. She did not mention it before hand and she has not given him any lai see for compensation, but as long as she was happy it did not mater. As for rumors that he would participate with Bosco Wong Chung Chak and Ron Ng Cheuk Hei in the Mainland variety program CALL ME BY FIRE 3, he said that he did not know yet. However he believed that if he needed Wong Chung Chak's help he would appear.

Chan Ka Lok and Tong Yee both expressed elation over the sequel. They were the most concerned about how characters would return. Ka Lok joked that in the sequel he would become a ghost that haunted Ching Wan, being able to see Ching Wan everyday would not be too bad. Tong Yee said that however they would return, the most important was for her to have a part.

Newlywed Chan Ka Lok revealed that he just returned to work two days ago. Because after completed his wedding with Shiga Lin earlier, they went home and slept for two whole days. He said that two wedding banquets in one days completely exceeded his exhaustion expectation. Originally intended to go to Europe in June for his honeymoon and watching soccer match, he said that the plan might change because his wife would perform a concert in Malaysia. He might tag along for their honeymoon. Switching from Europe to Malaysia, would he be able to get past his wife with that? He joked that if they kept talking they would instead go to Cheung Chau to watch the bun mountain race, since they have not seen it yet anyway. Tong Yee immediately said that if it was her she definitely would accept that. She said that because both she and husband Maverick Mak Chau Sing have been so busy that they still have not had their honeymoon two years after their wedding. She stressed that earlier when she and her husband went to Japan it was only a normal vacation, because they had an understanding that they would spend their honeymoon in Europe. However whether their son would go they were still considering that, because the last time they were on their own in Japan but really missed their son.
