The Emperor Motion Picture DOH YUET JEH (MOON THEIVES)'s
actors Anson Lo Hon Ting, Edan Lui Cheuk On, Keung To, Louis Cheung
Kai Chung, Michael Ning (Bak Ji) and others yesterday with boss Albert
Yeung Sau Sing attended a production start ceremony in Tai Po. During
the ceremony everyone cordially offered the center spot to each
other. Keung To ducked out of the away early on. Yeung Sau Sing
grabbed Anson Lo who was about to walk away. After cordially offering
the spot to each other, Anson Lo pleaded, "No, I beg you to stand in
the middle." He revealed that in the film he had less action scenes,
but they mostly worked over night. Over the first few days he got a
little dizzy, and he did not get to used it until the third day.
Speaking of injuring his leg from working on another film WE 12 (12
GWAI DOH), he revealed that it is much better but he would have to
watch how he would walk.
Edan said that keeping himself from laughing was even tougher
than working all night, because Cheung Kai Chung and Bai Ji kept
making fun before taking their marks. He could not hold back his
laughter. Special performer Keung To praised the character for its
potential. Speaking of several members of MIRROR's solo concerts
over the summer, Keung To and Anson Lo declined to show off their
muscles while Edan joked, "Let me show off my apple muscles!" Would
they wait for the "group show" to show off together? Keung To joked,
"Then the visual would be great!"
Also at the production start ceremony were Louis Cheung Kai
Chung and Michael Ning (Bak Ji). As buddies they constantly saw each
others, but working together again after 6 or 7 years they still felt
very happy. Edan said that while working with them holding back
laughter was the hardest. Ah Chung said, "Young people need to be
honed a little!" He also revealed that some hard work, he finally
regained the heart of his daughter from MIRROR. "She said that after
awhile Papa is the most handsome." However while shooting in Japan,
he also asked Anson Lo to send a birthday video to his daughter. He
joked, "Friends have asked me to help with birthday, wedding blessing
videos, I never would have guessed that it would happen to me! I asked
Anson Lo if he could shoot a video to wish my daughter happy birthday."
As for his son beginning to work out, Ah Chung explained, "Actually
I am the happiest that my son is willing to exercise and is
interested." Did his son want to get bigger to meet girls? Ah Chung
said, "Meeting girls is very normal, actually I want to look into it
too but he hides it too well."
Cheung Kai Chung and Bak Ji said that while on location in
Japan they often discussed the scrip with the MIRROR trio to get an
understanding of what they were thinking. Cheung Kai Chung said,
"Young people need training, I told them to give time and confidence
to themselves. I feel that they are very serious during the shoot."
Was Cheung Kai Chung disappointed that he did not win the Hong
Kong Film Awards Best Actor? He said, "Of course not, I feel I have
already won with the experience because a film award is not as simple
as a speed race like in running. It would also depend on the voters'
tastes." Ah Chung even said that he was very hard to imagine that he
was able to sit next to Sean Lau Ching Wan and Sammi Cheng Sau Man
that night, which he already felt very happy about. Some online
claimed that at this Hong Kong Film Awards almost all nominees that
came from the Academy of Performing Arts went home empty handed. Ah
Chung said, "I can only continue to work hard, keep honing myself.
Actually many elders and juniors wouldn't mind winning or losing, the
most important is for the audience to start to go to the movie." Ah
Chung also said that because of work, he would be unable to participate
in the HK$ 30 movie day Saturday. He felt that no one would think
Hong Kong had too many activities that would support the film industry,
the most important was to make high quality films. Only then would
they be able to answer to viewers who used real money to buy tickets.
Cheung Kai Chung said, "The film industry needs development and support
in many areas, I would always welcome good support." Some cinemas
would screen classic films. Ah Chung would like to see again the
horror films BLESS THIS HOUSE (MAN GWAI FUT TIU CHEUNG) and THE
OCCUPANT (LING HEI BIK YUN), while Bak Ji hoped to watch A BETTER
TOMORROW (YING HUNG BOON SIK).
