The 250 million yuan film THE DEADLY RECLAIM (NGAI SING CHI BA) yesterday held a large scale press conference in Keyan Scenic Resort in Shaoxing. Producer and director Benny Chan Muk Sing and action director Sammo Hung Kam Bo led the cast that included Sean Lau Ching Wan, Louis Koo Tin Lok, Eddie Peng Yu-Yan, Wu Jing, Liu Kai Chi, Philip Keung Ho Man, Yolanda Yuan Quan, Jiang Shuying, Sammy Hung Tin Chiu and Berg Ng Ting Yip.

The production team spent a month to construct the village "Pucheng". At the press conference, each actor carried a weapon and introduced themselves. Chan Muk Sing said that he has always looked forward to working with Big Brother Hung Kam Bo. Big Brother Hung said that every actor has fought very well.

Earlier When Ching Wan won the Hong Kong Film Award Best Actor he revealed that he would make an action time. This time he fulfilled his promise as he played the "Pucheng" guardian leader. He had to wield a long whip, which was the hardest to control. He and Yuan Quan played a couple. He said that he has not made an action film in 20 years. Yet this time with Big Brother Hung and many experts, he had to come. Has he hit himself with the long whip yet? Ching Wan joked that he would not tell anyone. Goo Jai said that in the film he had no family but killed a lot of people. Pistol was his weapon; he also said that the production was a lot of fun because he did not have to fight. However he revealed that during rehearsal Ching Wan often hit him. Wu Jing said that he really liked playing a villain in Director Chan Muk Sing's film, because the first time he worked on Director Chan's film he already won a Golden Horse Award. He also said that no one was a good guy in the film. Peng Yu-Yan had a face full of beard. He said, "I am a wanderer, a savage. This time I don't have to shave, so I am quite at ease." Has Big Brother Hung strictly lectured him? He said that they have worked together several times. This time he was even more demanding.

After the press conference, Ching Wan, Goo Jai and Peng Yu-Yan spoke to the media. Was it very difficult to work on fight scene in such a hot and humid climate? Ching Wan said that it was not too hot because sometimes it would rain. Goo Jai said that he would be in front of the fan even when he was not at work. Peng Yu-Yan said that originally he really liked his bearded look, only that it was a little hot. Some of his beard was real and some fake.

Ching Wan has not made an action film in a long time and thought it was a lot of fun. When he saw Big Brother Hung putting actors on wires, it felt very fresh to him. Sometimes he would arrive at the set early to watch and felt like his eyes were opened. Before the shoot, Ching Wan spent several days to practice with the whip and had basic training. When he started to use the whip he hit himself because it was two meters long. Goo Jai joked, "Wow, your whip is two meters long." Was Goo Jai jealous? He laughed but did not answer. Ching Wan struck back. "They asked if you are jealous!" Goo Jai chuckled, "Of course I am not jealous, it's so odd! How can you control it." Did Ching Wan hit anyone with the whip? He said no, but he was the most dangerous actor in the entire film. After this time would he fall for fight scenes and try the action star route? Ching Wan said, "I started late, I would try my best!"

Goo Jai this time played a villain, but he joked, "Anyone can tell you I am a gentleman just by looking at me, just see how pale my tan is." Peng Yu-Yan had to dual wield blades, which he said was pretty hard. Sometimes he hit himself and others. Luckily the Sammo Hung Stuntman Association was on hand to keep an eye out.

Yesterday was Ching Wan and Amy Kwok Oi Ming's wedding anniversary. Ching Wan said that his wife came to keep him company. Two nights ago they went to a restaurant to celebrate.

Keung Ho Man was the only actor who did not have to fight in the film. Liu Kai Chi joked that he never expected a cripple old soldier like him would still have to fight. Speaking of spending Father's Day here, Hak Jai showed a Father's Day card from the film LITTLE BIG MASTER's Ka Ka. He admitted that he was very happy.
