Fresh out of the oven Best Actor Nick Cheung in his new film THAT DEMON WITHIN (MOR GAING) had a "Best Actor flambe" scene. Ka Fai played two characters, the "Ghost King mask" wearing murdering and arson robber Hon Kong and the demon cop "Leung Wing Hung". Before the shoot he stated that he did not want to play big like in UNBEATABLE (GIK JIN) to director Dante Lam Chiu Yin. "I can go very far, as long as I don't have to get big again anything is fine! Then the director smiled and said, let's try setting you on fire? At first I thought he was joking, I didn't know he meant it!"

In this scene the cop Ka Fai while on the cop accidentally caused the death of an innocent bystander. Later when he returned home to eat with his mother, his enemy locked the gate, poured gas and set a fire. He rushed out of the fire for help and was burnt alive. Lam Chiu Yin has always been cautious, he used real fire on the set and Ka Fai had to suffer. To create his burnt effect, the makeup artists first used flour and man made rubber for fake human skin that were applied onto Ka Fai's face and limbs before coloring. Each time he spent 4 hours in makeup and the result was like a zombie, very terrifying.

Ka Fai said, "Actually the makeup was OK, removing it was much more troublesome and took several hours. Because the fake skin was glued on, it required special makeup removal liquid to be removed. After that my entire face was 'stiff' and had red marks. Even after a few washes at home I still couldn't get them off!" Many film critics and industry insiders who have seen THAT DEMON WITHIN praised him. Was he confident that he will win his third Best Actor at the Hong Kong Film Award next year? Ka Fai said, "Honestly, this time my THAT DEMON WITHIN role wasn't considered much, Ng Yin Cho (Daniel Wu) would probably have a chance to win Best Actor. In recent years I have won and lost at award shows, awards aren't the most important to actors, the lack of career breakthrough is!"
