The Beijing International Film Festival last night held its opening ceremony. This year master directors all have big production releases. The Zhang Yimou directed, Gong Li starred COMING HOME became a film in focus. This year the film will also participate in the Cannes International Film Festival.
John Woo (Ng Yu Sum) and the cast of THE CROSSING (TAI PING LUN) Zhang Ziyi, Huang Xiaoming, Masami Nagasawa, Song Hye-Kyo and others wrapped up the red carpet ceremony. How did the Beijing International Film Festival differ from other film festivals? Zhang Ziyi joked, "It's in my backyard, I can come back after dinner."
Fan Bingbing first walked the red carpet with Wu Chun, Zhang Yimou and the YANG GUIFEI team took to the red carpet. Then she changed and appeared with Huang Xiaoming to represent THE WHITE HAIRED WITCH OF THE LUNAR KINGDOM (BAK FAT MOR NUI JUEN ji MING YUET TIN GOK). She was asked what was different from BRIDE WITH WHITE HAIR? She joked, "It has Xiaoming!" Other artists on the red carpet included CLOSE FRIEND's Fiona Sit Hoi Kei, Vanness Wu (Ng Kin Ho) and Ivy Chen, and OUTCAST (JUI HAU DIK JIN JUNG)'s Liu Yifei and Andy Tien (On Chi Kit).
