Superstar of a generation Leslie Cheung Kwok Wing passed away 11 years ago. Yesterday was the anniversary of his death. Gor fans from around the world paid their respect in different locations; over 200 fans around 6:43PM lit candles for a tearful moment of silence regardless of the weather at where he passed away. Former manager Chan Suk Fun revealed intentions of extending Gor Gor's glory years with a musical on Gor Gor's 60th birthday (2016). She felt that Gor fans would decide if this concept would be put in practice. If it had over 1 million "likes" from Gor fans on facebook she would consider it.

On April 1 every years, Gor fans from the Mainland, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Singapore and Malaysia would gather in Hong Kong to attend related Gor Gor memorial events. They missed him no less over 11 years. Japanese Gor fans folded 921 origami cranes that were sent to Po Fook Hill and handed them to Gor Gor's manager Chan Suk Fun as offering; then they presented flowers on the Avenue of Stars and outside the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, outside Jardin House where Gor Gor fell to his death for a moment of silence. Over 200 fans around 6PM with Gor Gor's classic songs held a candlelight vigil outside the Jardin House, many fans already succumbed to tears. Around 6:43PM as drizzle fell, the moment of silence took place to eulogize this idol of a generation as fans sobbed. After the ceremony ended, rain began to pour.

Yesterday on the Avenue of Stars, fans presented flowers to the star of Cheung Kwok Wing and placed Gor Gor's film stills and cards. Four Gor fans from Guangzhou revealed that this was their first year of participation, because after attending Gor Gor's 10th anniversary event last year they learned more about Gor Gor and fell for him. They felt that young people should learn from Gor Gor's character and excellent moral traits.

Last year was the 10th anniversary of Gor Gor's passing. Former manager Chan Suk Fun made an exception and held a memorial concert. Although it caused a storm, loyal fans still continued to ask Mrs. Chan to organize another memorial event for Gor Gor's 60th birthday (2016). Mrs. Chan said that she was very conflicted. "On one hand I have decided to never organize any public memorial event; on the other hand I have tried to satisfy all the begging and pleading from Gor Fans to thank them for their love for Cheung Kwok Wing!" Mrs. Chan said that last December in Shanghai she ran into an elder who she respected very much. He encouraged her to produce a musical about Cheung Kwok Wing to continue Gor Gor's glory days. If successful, at least after her passing she still would have left something on earth; however she felt that the decision should be left with Gor fans. Thus she posted the idea of this musical on facebook. Gor fans who agreed and supported it could like it. With over 1 million Gor fans' support she would consider the idea. Otherwise she would not. Fan club's Ms. Yau said that it would be meaningful for Gor Gor's 60th birthday or 20th anniversary of his passing but Cheung Kwok Wing would be hard to replace in the hearts of fans.

Anita Yuen Wing Yi who has worked with Gor Gor many times posted online, "How can I forget? Gor Gor! How are you?" Her husband Julian Cheung Chi Lam, Shu Qi and others retweeted the post in memory of their friend. Cherie Chung Chor Hung posted, "Forever love!"

Kitman Mak last night with her husband Kong Wa attended "Reliving those good old days -- Leslie in Concert" at the Academic Community Hall. She performed their own duet MIRACLE. Mak Kit Man shared her memories of Gor Gor. The most memorable was once she drove her old Japanese car to dinner, Gor Gor drove his beautiful car and was very interested in her old car. He kept asking her to let him drive it like a child. She said that Gor Gor was smart while she was dumb in comparison to him. He was fluent in English but performed Cantonese opera just as well. He was even better at play than others, with quite a strategy in badminton. Once she was a guest on Gor Gor's concert tour. After the performance he was relaxed. In a white tank top he asked to PURPLE HAIRPIN with her; Mak Kit Man did not know how to sing Cantonese Opera, so Gor Gor performed both the male and the female parts and had a lot of fun.

When Kong Wa first started dating Mak Kit Man, he went with her to the karaoke box and met Gor Gor once. He said that Gor Gor originally sat faraway, later he came closer and seemingly looked him over. Conceivably he was evaluating if he was suitable to be Mak Kit Man's boyfriend.
