The Lunar New Year and Valentine's Day film HOT SUMMER DAYS (CHUEN SING YIT LUEN YIT LAT LAT) will be released on February 28. The cast included Jacky Cheung Hok Yau, Barbie Hsu (Tsui Hei Woon), Rene Liu (Lau Yeuk Ying), Nicholas Tse Ting Fung, Daniel Wu (Ng Yin Cho) and Vivian Hsu (Tsui Yeuk Suen). Big S' costume in the film included smoky eyes and short hair, which she felt was the biggest breakthrough in her film career. Big S played a motorcycle girl who by chance met Ting Fung and they performed a car chase. Big S honestly said that she was very nervous about working with Tse Ting Fung because Ting Fung was very cool privately. Although they knew each other for more than ten years they worked together for the first time. When Ting Fung saw her on the set and only waved to greet her, she did not expect him to get into character so quickly after work began.
Big S has always been known to be protective of her hair. For this performance she had to cut it short, the first in her life. Big S even added tattoos, smokey eye make up, tight pants and a sexy little tank top. Big S honestly said that she liked the tattoo on her arm not only because it has a special meaning but also because it looked great.
Director Tony Chan Kwok Fai revealed that after the costume fitting Big S hid in the restroom and did not dare to come, making everyone wait 20 minutes. Big S explained that because she has never worn so little, in particular when she had to take off her clothes piece by piece to the bra top. She was very nervous. Finally Big S daringly broke through her own standards and came out.
Not only she had race scenes Big S's real challenge was swimming. Because she drowned as a child, she was very afraid of the water. Yet in the film in order to fulfill a terminally ill girl's dream she had to swim in the sea. She expressed that the night before she was so scared that she could not sleep, as she struggled whether she would perform this scene. Finally she asked her sister Little S for help. With her sister's comforting and encouragement, Big S finally firmly walked toward the sea step by step as the entire team cheered her on.
