On May 11, a bright red poster with a sword wielding Jet Li (Lee Nin Kit) appeared on the cover of THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER in France. This FLYING SWORDS OF DRAGON GATE (LUNG MOON FEI GAP) poster began the 64th Cannes Film Festival with a bang for Chinese films.

Every year at each major film festival, film companies fought over spots on three major English publications THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER, VARIETY and SCREEN INTERNATIONAL. The FLYING SWORDS OF DRAGON GATE cover was in standard China red with a sword wielding Lee Nin Kit in black. Director Tsui Hark personally wrote the Chinese title, martial art, Han characters, all three major Chinese elements appeared on the poster. This Cannes film festival poster was particularly eye catching. FLYING SWORDS OF DRAGON GATE was an all 3D martial art epic, Tsui Hark who has always liked to challenge all new production techniques put a lot of effort into this. The poster's shadows was the effect that viewers saw when they did not wear 3D glasses to watch 3D films. On top of the poster was "Jet Li and Tsui Hark are back together", again stressing that this was Tsui Hark and Lee Nin Kit's reunion after 14 years.
