Louis Koo Tin Lok's One Cool Flm just released that Hong Kong science fiction epic that was years in the making, WARRIORS OF FUTURE (MING YUT JIN GEI) opened on the 5th in the Mainland. After 9 days it made almost 300 million yuan, but lost to the low budget Mainland science fiction comedy MOON MAN, which after 10 days pulled far ahead of WARRIORS OF FUTURE.
Due to WARRIORS OF FUTURE's average Mainland word of mouth, star and investor Goo Jai recently has been running all over to promote. Earlier he even appeared on a Mainland live streaming platform for an interview, with a page of earlier calls for support for WARRIORS OF FUTURE and many recent Goo Jai interview videos. In one, Goo Jai tearfully stated that he hoped even more viewers would support WARRIORS OF FUTURE.
"Making a science fiction film is very difficult and requires a lot of money, a lot of time, but this is my dream. I have to persevere. If you like it please recommend it to other people, don't let me feel like I am alone by myself." He got sentimental and lightly dap his eyes with tissue. Many Hong Kong people online supported Goo Jai and wrote, "Goo Jai, don't cry! The Hong Kong people support you! At the Hong Kong release on the 25th, I will go to the movies with you to watch it ten times!"
