Cecilia So Lai Shan in the film TALES FROM THE OCCULT (SUT HUNG HUNG GAN)'s segment DEAD MALL chased after a car on fire and the spark scorched her chest. Toughing out the pain she stated, "Until the director yells cut, I would keep performing!"

TALES FROM THE OCCULT was John Chong Ching and Tang Han Keung produced and will open on September 15th. It also would be one of this year's Hong Kong International Film Festival gala presentation. The film consisted of three stories. DEAD MALL was Fruit Chan Gor directed, about a commercial building fire that rocked Hong Kong over twenty years ago. Mixing the currently popular online live stream and pandemic of the century elements, ghost hunting online personality So Lai Shan took a camera to explore the shopping center and got into dangers galore. During the shoot she chased a car on fire and ran on the streets, with zero distance to its ember. Although she was very hard, she still felt the heat of the flame.

Later she had to stare at the car being swallowed by the fire and shed tears. The team created the spark effects with welding. In a short dress So Lai Shan appeared calm despite all the sparks spraying at her face, at the same time she even had to maintain her heartbroken tears. The director and the crew instead were very nervous. The director even personally knelt on the floor and used white paper to block So Lai Shan's face to test the mark before the shoot. After finishing the final shot, So Lai Shan finally said, "I thought in a jacket I would be fine, I didn't expect the spark to fly into it and even burnt the tee inside. It had a hole, at the time my chest hurt a little."

Speaking of playing the ghost hunting online personality, she was daring and liked to take risks. She said, "When an ordinary person finds a corpse in the bathroom, they would definitely be scared, turn around and run. However my character goes to find the real culprit. (Are you that brave in real life too?) No, I am not brave at all. I don't even dare to listen to ghost stories. So playing this character has been a huge challenge."
