Richie Jen (Yam Yin Chai) in the film TRIVISA (SHU DAI CHIU FUNG) played robber Yip Kwok Foon with a flat top. Earlier he again appeared with a flat top for the Fung Chih Chiang directed story THE TENEMENT in the film TALES FROM THE OCCULT (SUT HUNG HUNG GAN) and played a just released from prison mobster.

Siu Chai in the film wore a white tank top, carried a butcher knife, and battled seven enemies in the back alley. After a short time they all became lost souls under his blade. To add the effect, the crew used a welder to create sparks and even set up racks for wire work to display Siu Chai's "blade work". Some enemies flew from his attacks. Due to the certain level of danger, after the shoot Siu Chai immediately comforted many action actors who fell to the ground. He was very thoughtful. As viewers thought Siu Chai as the mobster was cold, cruel and able to kill at the blink of an eye, the bloody scene was just a "misunderstanding'. In the same place, everyone carried butcher knives to fight each other. Only Yam Yin Chai fearfully hid between two giant trash cans. After the battle ended he quietly left the scene.

Siu Chai said, "This film really is a lot of fun. In the story darkness is everyone's hearts. When someone face their weakness in their heart, that fear would suddenly erupt. It may be very funny, it may be nonsensical, but you would be very scary. With the story having suspense and thrills all in one, the content is very rich. You have to go to the movies to watch it!"

Actually Siu Chai had quite a history with tenements. He said that he has known director Fung Chih Chiang for many years. He was very excited to work on THE TENEMENT. "The first time I came to Hong Kong to make a movie I shot on location at the tenement, the space, stairway and the unit divisions all gave people an indescribable sense of pressure." In addition, Siu Chai also praised lead actress Sofiee Ng Hoi Yan's performance. "When I saw the script I was surprised by how difficult the female lead role would be, with a personality inside and outside. The grasp of the pace would have to be great for the story to be able to progress successfully. On the first day when I saw Ng Hoi Yan I told her 'It's all up to you!' She worked very hard and performed very well."
