The film MERMAID (MEI YUN YU) will open on the Lunar New Year. Lately director Stephen Chow Sing Chi and the actors have been promoting hard. Earlier during their Guangzhou stop, Sing Yeh also brought his "disciple" Kris Wu Yifan. A guest star in the film, he revealed that once at dinner with Sing Yeh he was asked to play a Parkinson's Disease patient and an uncultured nouveau riche. After the audition he was found to have quite a comedic feel and was offered a role in the new film.

Sing Yeh called him "Chief Wu" and described Wu Yifan as "very hard to come by" three times. "When we talk about acting, it is like we are sparring with martial art. He is very focused when he acts, has a lot of talent. When he is free he would read and listen to music at home to elevate himself."
