[2015.01.06] LI LIHUA RECEIVES THE LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD

The 92 year old retired female star Li Lihua has become the recipient of the 35th Hong Kong Film Award "Lifetime Achievement Award". Currently living overseas, she will return to Hong Kong to attend the Hong Kong Film Award. Li Lihua started her film career at age 16. With the film THREE CHARMING SMILES (SAM SIU) she became a sensation overnight. After her performance in the 1978 film DREAM OF THE RED CHAMBER (SUN HUNG LAU MUNG) she retired from her almost 40 year career. After almost 130 films she is known the "film industry evergreen".

She has won the Golden Horse Best Actress award twice and was one of the first Chinese female star to be in a Hollywood film, Oscar Best Director Frank Borzage's CHINA DOLL. This year the Hong Kong Film Awards will have 60 films in competition and 27 Chinese films from both sides of the Strait.
