Director Wong Jing last year announced the production of the NEW KUNG FU CULT MASTER (SUN YI TIN TOH LUNG GEI). Yesterday the new generation "Cheung Mo Gei" Raymond Lam Fung was unveiled! Wong Jing posted many costume photos on social media and "announced" the cast. "Resuming production on KUNG FU fulfilled a 28 year long wish. Three days ago the golden casting was officially announced. Today's cast line up: Chen Zihan as Purple Dragon King, Wilfred Lau Ho Lung as Sung Ching Shu, Rebecca Zhu as Yan So So, Louis Koo Tin Lok as Cheung Chui Shan, Donnie Yen Chi Tan as Cheung Sam Fung, and the long awaiting Cheung Mo Gei: Raymond Lam Fung. Between good and evil, the tender Chow Chi Yu: Sabrina Qiu." However the actor who would play Tsu Chu remained a mystery. Raymond Wong Ho Yin, Alex Fong Chung Shun and others will take part as well.

Many online compared Lam Fung to past "Cheung Mo Gei", including Lawrence Ng Kai Wa, Tony Leung Chiu Wai, and others. They stated that the currently 40 year old Lam Fung was too old in age and appearance. Wong Jing immediately explained that the story would revolve around "Cheung Mo Gei" as the Ming Cult Master around his 30s. Some also guessed that Mainland star Dilraba Dimurat would play Tsu Chu, but Wong Jing clarified that she would not.
