Yesterday Hong Kong Music Alliance chair Peter Wong Leung Sing, vice chair Alan Fok Siu Keung and a group of executive members held a press conference. While the Chinese Artists Association of Hong Kong (Bar Wo) already received HK$ 1.5 million from the government for pandemic relief, the executive members said, "We are in show business too. The government shouldn't watch us die! The government also cannot neglect our situation!"

Wong Leung Sing pointed out that the government decision and policy are not transparent. Bands may have the freedom to perform elsewhere, but they are not permitted to perform live at bars. People were given the impression of band performance carried virus, denying band performance put the brakes on their income. They demanded the government to permit bands perform under the condition of 1.5 meters apart from others and in masks. In addition, they also hoped that the second round of government pandemic relief fund would loose the application restrictions, so musicians who are without any mandatory provident fund, without medical insurance and self employed would be able to receive government pandemic relief assistance.
