Former TVB director Ivan Lai Kai Ming earlier passed away from pancreatic cancer at age 61. Lai Kai Ming's resume included television series GHETTO JUSTICE, ON THE FIRST BEAT and film THE KING OF DEBT COLLECTING AGENT (SAU SO WONG). Many artists expressed regret after receiving the news. Seeing him as a true friend, Wong Chau Sun admitted, "You know how much temper and foul language are there in this business, but he didn't! He was so kind that he would be bullied. (When was the last time you saw him?) Probably over a year ago. He said that he wanted to start an acting company and make television series. He had a pretty good plan!"
Myolie Wu Hung Yi and Bosco Wong Chung Chak worked with him on the series WARS OF IN LAWS. Hung Yi said, "last year he said that he wanted to work with me. I never thought that he would pass away like this. I hope his family won't be too heartbroken, my condolences." Chung Chak wished that his family's emotions would settle down as soon as possible. Michael Tse Tin Wa admitted that the last time he saw Lai Kai Ming was last year. "He met with me to talk about Mainland projects and films, at the time he was in great shape, very alert." Lai Kai Ming's son Lai Chi Ling said that a low key memorial will take place on the 22nd, then his remains will be cremated at Cape Collinson.
