Lau Ching Wan, Jacky Cheung Hok Yau, and Johnnie To Kei Fung last night attended the Fresh Wave 2012 International Short Film Festival closing ceremony and award gala to present awards to new directors. Ching Wan felt the need to support new directors. If he had the chance he would work on new directors' movies. Would he charge less salary? He said, "I am afraid that they wouldn't have much money, but they need some veteran actors like us. We would have a chance to chat!" Ching Wan remembered when he was still working on television series, To Kei Fung was a new director too but his performance was already outstanding. At work he was very serious and would throw tantrums.
The newly crowned Golden Horse Best Actor, Ching wan revealed that two nights ago he had dinner with fellow Golden Horse Best Director To Kei Fung and several friends. They even made a cake with the Golden Horse award design for him. He was nominated for the Asia Pacific Film Festival Best Actor, Ching Wan has not thought about whether he would win or not. He did not want to add pressure for himself and he was already very happy about winning the Golden Horse award.
