Nick Cheung Ka Fai and Sean Lau Ching Wan are close friends, but for their first on screen collaboration in THE WHITE STORM (SO DUK) they were arranged to turn against each other. Yet their brother like relationship has not been harmed. Ka Fai said, "Each time I see Ching wan, I can't help but want to hug him." Ching Wan joked, "Maybe I look like a teddy bear." Their friendship has already elevated to the point of "the grotesque becoming the funny".

This friendship has never been challenged. Ka Fai said, "Ching Wan in the past may understand (Anthony) Wong Chau Sun and (Francis) Ng Chun Yu more, but now he understands me more. Thus I would tell him any and all secret. He would very quickly understand my situation."

Ka Fai did not feel that their frequent pairing in film would be dull. "Every sport has its important team members, we are the representatives of Hong Kong police and mob films. Our characters may be similar but we would have to see how we would have variations. This time is not the usual masculine film. Every character would directly and sincerely speak from the hart. Thus during the shoot several scenes moved everyone to tears. We injected the relationship between men into this collaboration."

As for working with the transgender Poyd for the first time, Ka Fai said, "She is even more woman than any woman. Perhaps since I have never had contact with this type of friends, at first it felt a little strange. However a week later I have already completely accepted her as a woman through and through. We had a little intimate scene, I even came in contact with her chest!"
