After 13 years away from the silver screen, Vivian Chow Wai Man recently came back to team with Best Actress Sandra Ng Kwan Yu on the Ann Hui On Wa directed lesbian film. Vivian who has not made a film in a long time was obviously nervous about her new film. After the shoot, she immediately looked at play back with Kwan Yu and the director. During the process she and Kwan Yu even laughed incessantly.

Since working on the Jan Lam Hoi Fung directed short film OUT OF THE BLUR (FAI WA SIU SHUET) in 1996, Vivian has not made a movie in 13 years. This year Hui On Wa's romantic comedy lured her back. In the film she and Ng Kwan Yu have a lesbian relationship, as well as daring kiss and bed scenes with William Chan Wai Ting who plays her boyfriend.

Two nights ago around 8, Vivian and Kwan Yu shot on location at Central's Soho. Before the shoot, Vivian and Kwan Yu hid in a corner for make up and hair. The process took over a hour as both were very intense about their looks. Director Hui On Wa wanted to give Vivian even more confidence, so she walked over, fixed her hair and clothing while she explained the shoot. Vivian seemed to have breathed a sigh of relief and completely submerged herself into the shoot. After every shot, Vivian nervously dragged Kwan Yu and the director to watch the play back. When she saw her romantic lines with Kwan Yu, they both cracked up. The set was filled with laughter and the collaboration was very harmonious.

Reportedly, Vivian in order to play this "lesbian" role well, in the beginning of the month she met with Hui On Wa at a Central Lan Kwai Fong gay party and surprised the lesbians there. In addition, Vivian's fans pointed out that Hui On Wa once made SUMMER SNOW (NUI YUN 40)'s Josephine Siao Fong Fong, THE POSTMODERN LIFE OF MY AUNT (YI MA DIK HAU YIN DOI SUN WOOT)'s Siqin Gaowa and THE WAY WE ARE (TIN SHUI WAI DIK YUT YU YEH)'s Paw Hee Ching Hong Kong Film Award Best Actress. Rachel Lee Lai Chun with ORDINARY HEROES (CHIN YIN MAN YU) also won the Golden Horse Best Actress. Thus they hoped that under Director Hui Vivian will win as well.
