The Daniel Lee Yan Kong directed new film 14 BLADES (GUM YI WAI) yesterday held a press conference at the Pennisula Hotel. The cast including Donnie Yen Chi Tan, Wu Chen, Kate Tsui Tsz Shan and Chik Yuk Mo attended. Lead actress Vicki Zhao Wei was absent due to illness.

Yen Chi Tan expressed that he had fierce fight scenes with Tsui Tsz Shan and Wu Chen, but in order to coordinate with two action film new comers only he knew the pain. Chi Tan said, "Tsz Shan in the film used a weapon, a leather whip that was like a Gucci belt. Every time she used it she hit actors around her. I was very worried that she would hit me accidentally. I was 3 inches in front of her, but she missed her. Usually the actors next to me suffered."

Chi Tan spent nine hours on the costume fitting on over a dozen costumes. Chi Tan complained that the desert set reached 40 degrees Celsius. After each shot he had to change his soaked through shirt. Chi Tan worked with Wu Chen for the first time. Wu Chen behaved like a little fan. Before the shoot he first took a photo together. Chi Tan said, "When I made IP MAN, he was making BUTTERFLY LOVERS (WU HUP LEUNG JOOK) next door. He hoped to have a chance to work with me." Chi Tan pointed out that Wu Chen put a lot of effort into his first action film, but with the strength of an ox Wu Chen did not know how to hold back. Early in the shoot Chi Tan had to dodge him, he joked that Wu Chen at that moment was trying to take his life.

Tsui Tsz Shan gave a sexy performance in one scene. Chi Tan expressed that Tsz Shan was seducing him in that scene. He actually was not on site. He said that at the time he had to work on BODYGUARDS AND ASSASSINS and joked that the director might have been afraid his chest would be bigger than Tsz Shan's and worried that Tsz Shan would suffer from self pity. Tsz Shan explained that the sexy performance was related to her costume and weapon. She expressed that the long whip was truly very hard to control, sometimes that she would accidentally hit others. She expressed that this character costume was very detailed. The costume was designed 20 times. She appreciated the director and Chi Tan's guidance.

Wu Chen was asked whether he wanted to take Chi Tan's life. He said, "At the time Chi Tan told me to fight at ease so I fought." Was working with Chi Tan very stressful? He honestly said that he had pressure but Chi Tan was great and knew how to comfort others. This film elevated his acting. He said that he had fight scenes with Tsz Shan, and his Magistrate character was very manly. Wu Chen denied rumors of him leaving Fahrenheit to form his own company. "I still have a very long contract with the company. Next year I will release records." At the event Tsz Shan at the request of the media turned around for poses. Wu Chen and Chi Tan followed suit.
