The Huading Award 20120 China Film Satisfaction Survey's Top 50 Chinese film chart announced the Andy Lau Tak Wa and Deanie Ip Tak Han starred A SIMPLE LIFE (TOH JEH) at the top, WARRIORS OF THE RAINBOW: SEEDIQ BALE came in second and YOU ARE THE APPLE OF MY EYE third. PAINTED SKIN: RESURRECTION (WAT PEI II), a production with 700 million yuan box office, came in last in 50th and became the year's rotten film.

A SIMPLE LIFE had three major specialties: low investment, high profit and good word of mouth. This film cost 12 million yuan and made over 100 million yuan in the Mainland. Director Ann Hui On Wa, leads Lau Tak Wa and Ip Tak Han also swept many film awards. The chart's bottom 5 were at 46th place WHITE DEER PLAIN, then A CHINESE GHOST STORY, EAST MEETS WEST 2011, WHITE VENGEANCE and PAINTED SKIN: RESURRECTION. They all had big investments but poor word of mouth.
