The 9th Osaka Asian Film Festival yesterday closed. Carina Lau Ka Ling with her film BENDS (GOR GAI) won Best Actress. The Wei Te-Sheng produced Taiwan baseball film KANO won the Audience Award. Ka Ling was very happy and thanked her co-star Chen Kun and the BENDS director, saying that the credit belonged to the team.
Ka Ling also said that in recent years some actors after taking roles realized halfway that it was a rotten film but they still had to keep going. She said, "I have heard that in the middle of the production the film turned rotten, but out of respect for the spirit of the contract actors had to keep going. I can only advise new comers it would be the best to find a good manager to help analyze the script and the production's reputation, and only take roles if you trust they. I have been very lucky, these situations rarely happened to me."
