IP MAN 2 yesterday held a press conference in Shanghai. Producer Raymond Wong Pak Ming, director Wilson Yip Wai Shun, leads Donnie Yen Chi Tan and Lynn Xiong (Hung Doi Lam) met with the press. The event also announced IP MAN's action director Sammo Hung Kam Bo will play an important character in IP MAN 2. Yen Chi Tan and Hung Kam Bo in the film will play a "Wing Chun vs. Hung Fist" duel. The film will have many new Wing Chun designs. Yen Chi Tan also believed that he will have even better grasp of the drama in this film because he and Hung Doi Lam will have even better chemistry. In comparison to the Wong Kar Wai directed, Tony Leung Chiu Wai starred THE GRAND MASTER (YUT DOI JUNG SI), Chi Tan praised Wai Jai's acting and even pointed out that when Wai Jai won the Best Actor award he still had no idea what acting was; but since GRAND still has not been released yet, comparison will be harder. He even took a jab at Wong Kar Wai. "I hope I don't have to wait until 2046."

Hung Doi Lam yesterday seemed uncomfortable in her short dress. Playing Ip Man's wife again, she joked that although she was tall she was actually very attentive and gentle. Will she continue to be a "flower vase" role in the second installment? She expressed that in the first installment she played a daughter of an eminent family, reserved and did not rely on her looks. Yet she still had a lot of emotional scenes.

Director Yip Wai Shun expressed that he is working hard on the most suitable choice to play Bruce Lee. He hoped to be able to find an actor with a look and feel that is close to Bruce Lee himself. A mystery character will also join the performance. Producer Wong Pak Ming yesterday received a comic book from a Shanghai Film Festival committee representative in hopes of good box office and word of mouth for IP MAN 2.
