The 45th India International Film Festival two days ago closed in Goa. Hong Kong director Wong Kar Wai received the Lifetime Achievement Award. He said that he wanted to share the honor with his wife, who attended the film festival with him. He even joked, "This award came a little too soon, I don't have any plan to retire yet." His film THE GRANDMASTER (YUT DOI JUNG SI) was chosen as the closing film, for which he felt deeply honored.

Wong Kar Wai even said that through this opportunity he represented the Chinese filmmakers in thanking the film festival organizers and the Indian audience's enthusiasm, as well as their support for Chinese film. He said, "Indian viewers are very friendly and love film. Thank you very much for giving me this honor. Although the award came a little too soon, to me it is a huge encouragement. I hope that in the future China and India will have more film collaboration opportunities, with even more exchanges and interaction."
