The film yesterday held a press conference in Busan. Leads Wong Chau Sun and Choi Cheuk Yin were unable to attend due to work, but director Lee Po Cheung, Wong Yau Nam and Carrie Ng Ka Lai attended and shared their production experience.
Wong Yau Nam and Ng Ka Lai both were in Busan for the first time. Speaking of Busan Film Festival selecting their film, Yau Nam felt that it was the hard work of everyone on the team. The 52 year old Ng Ka Lai at the press conference received praises from the local media for being well maintained. Some media after watching GANGSTER PAY DAY felt that it broke through the mob film framework, had heavy Hong Kong flavor, reporters especially praised Wong Chau Sun's performance as exciting. At the same time, many found Ng Ka Lai's special performance unforgettable. A reporter even jokingly asked if she loved mushroom as much as her character in the film. After the press conference, many Korean fans asked Yau Nam for photos. Yau Nam happily said that although this trip to Busan was not very long, he was very happy to have a chance to meet Korean fans.
Yau Nam said that in his 14 years in the business, what he got out of making this film was more than what he has made. He saw elder Wong Chau Sun's acting and learned a lot from him. When he directly asked Chau Sun for advice, Chau Sun would answer him and they even exchanged phone numbers.
