The 57th Asia Pacific Film Festival will take place in Phattaya, Thailand between December 15 and 17. The Federation of Motion Film Producers of Hong Kong selected 5 films to represent Hong Kong at the Asia Pacific Film Festival, including the Pang Ho Cheung directed ABERDEEN (HEUNG GONG JAI), the Danny Pang Fat and Oxide Pang Shun directed OUT OF INFERNO (TOH CHOOK SUN TIN), the Benny Chan Muk Sing directed THE WHITE STORM (SO DUK), the Derek Kwok Chi Kin directed AS THE LIGHT GOES OUT (GAU FOR YING HUNG) and the Alan Mak Siu Fai and Felix Chong Man Keung directed OVERHEARD 3 (SIT TING FUNG WON 3).

All films in competition at the Asia Pacific Film Festival will compete for awards like Best Film, Best Director, Best Actor and Actress, Best Supporting Actor and Actress, Best Screenplay, Best Cinematography, Best Editing, Best Sound Effect, Best Score, Best Art Direction, Jury Special Prize and others.

Louis Koo Tin Lok was the king of high productivity. He and Sean Lau Ching Wan starred in OUT OF INFERNO, THE WHITE STORM and OVERHEARD 3. Goo Jai also starred in ABERDEEN. They both had a chance to compete for Best actor. However THE WHITE STORM's Nick Cheung Ka Fai and OUT OF INFERNO's Nicholas Tse Ting Fung also should not be overlooked. As for lead actress, ABERDEEN's Miriam Yeung Chin Wa and Gigi Leung Wing Kei also had break out performances. They will compete again OUT OF INFERNO's Angelica Lee Sinjie and OVERHEARD 3's Zhou Xun.
