[2021.04.08] ONE SECOND CHAMPION CAME IN THIRD FOR EASTER

The Hong Kong Box Office Co. Ltd. yesterday announced the just ended Easter film box office (April 2nd to 5th). GODZILLA VS. KONG over four days made HK$ 9,107,680 to become the Easter film champion. In second was animated film STAND BY ME DORAEMON 2 with HK$ 7,933,889. After over 20 days in release, the Hong Kong film ONE SECOND CHAMPION (YUT MIU KUEN WONG) during Easter still made HK$ 2,110,393 in third place.

Hong Kong cinemas in coordination with the government pandemic prevention policies restricted admission to 75%. This year the Easter box office due to the pandemic had a total revenue of HK$ 28,383,468. Last year during Easter cinemas were forced to shut down due to the pandemic, but in comparison to 2019 of the same period (April 19th to 22nd) the total box office was HK$ 29,576,886. The slight decline was 4.03%. Hong Kong viewers under the pandemic were rather confident in the cinema pandemic prevention measures and had a strong desire to watch movies.
