Director John Woo (Ng Yu Sum) earlier attended a film event with his wife. That day happened to be their 38th wedding anniversary. He gave his wife a kiss and thanked her for her support over the years; his friend Tsui Hark due to work was absent from the event but sent a video to show his support.
At the event Ng Yu Sum shared memories from his 36 year relationship with Tsui Hark. He recalled when he returned to Hong Kong, his career was at its bottom. He received Tsui Hark's support and made A BETTER TOMORROW (YING HUNG BOON SIK) into a Hong Kong film classic. Ng Yu Su's new film THE CROSSING (TAI PING LUN) brought him back together with Takeshi Kaneshiro (Gum Sing Mo). He praised him as a very hard working actor, and even more charming than when they worked together on RED CLIFF (CHET BIK).
